I like how you got all meta and left in your search parameters. This thread has some potential, but we’ve got to keep juicing it.

Appeal to tradition? Ad populum? Appeal to ignorance?

(I don’t agree with all the whiny people either, but old doesn’t always mean good.)

when you can somehow mix your shitty political views with an automotive product you need mental help. Some of you here need that help.

I posted some time ago that Toyota knows there is a problem with their transmissions in the 2016 on models and other than a few TSB's which really do nothing the problem still exist. That is a fact, something that is not based on how I or anyone else drives and not an opinion. My Consumer reports question was based on the premise that all years since 16 have the same engine and drivetrain but only 2018 gets really hammered in the magazine and is listed as a Do Not Buy.

    But they don't. 2 diff engine options, 3 (2016, 2017) transmissions, 2 since 2018.

Please explain. I have a 2017 and my son has a 2019. Far as I can tell they have the same engines (V6's) and transmissions. Just like the 2018 that Consumers rated.

    A few.
Actually then recommend avoiding the Tacoma entirely and heading to the Ford dealer for a Ford Ranger or Honda Ridgeline

Getting to like my 3rd gen tacoma more everyday. It just keeps running a little bit smoother as the miles pile on.

They have never liked the Tacoma. They used to not like it because "it drove like a truck". Never looked at CR again.
