I'm #180 (Nomad) order October 1st. Not even planning on having this until early 2021. I'm busy painting my Tundra desert camo so at least this is keeping quite busy so I'm not itching to do my build out. Did install the Propex though but nothing on top to hold the heat.

Not sure if this is appropriate for this forum or better suited for the builds one (I’ll post there too), I’m a total noob when it comes to the electrical parts of builds. We didn’t add solar pre-wire to our original order but are contemplating adding it to the final build since we’re getting insulation and want it to be clean. (Order 201, January 6 on a Nissan Frontier just in case anyone is curious.) What all is included with that prewire kit?

I’m using the wait time to try to prep our build as much as possible so we can get after it right after install and am curious what I’ll need to have in advance to have solar all good to go. We’re going to add a fan as well, because we live in the desert. Duh.

So for those currently in the process of researching, I remember it was very difficult for me to pull the trigger because it's not easy to find detailed pictures, and video of Drifters in the wild. There's thankfully a couple of videos on YouTube including Anderson and Iggy's rigs, but beyond that it is sifting through the forum posts for answers.

I went ahead and made two quick YouTube videos to help showcase a bit more of the details in the Drifter. I'm not a pro YouTuber or anything, but I hope it helps some of you in your research and decision making process.

Shorter part 1 setup and breakdown here...

And longer part 2 walk through here. ..

Been debating added a 270 awning. Does it make a lot of noise at higher speed? How easy is it to take off? Did VO install it? Thanks!

Get the pre-wire and electric done by VO. They can hide the wires away during construction in a way that you are unable to do so once it's put together.

It is not designed to be regularly removed and reinstalled. Once it is on, its on.

VO installed my 270 awning. You could take it off, but it would not be quick. I don't notice much noise and it would be hard to tell if its the drifter vs. the awning. I just turn the radio up.

    Thank you!!

It doesn't add much noise. The whole setup isn't much different noise-wise than just having our Prinsu rack before. Yep, it was installed by VO. It's very bombproof and not easily removed. So it lives there.

@BZ4X4 is correct. They are ROAM 95 L rugged cases. They fit perfectly in a long bed with one across the front of the bed, and one running the length of the bed. We have since added cushions to the top and are looking for back cushions to complete our simple L-couch. I have a picture somewhere. Hang on.

OK, getting ready to finalize my order. I've decided to spend my kid's inheritance and get two Frontrunner doors. The question is, glass vs. solid. A lot of people seem to choose solid, and they cite security as the reason, but with the rear glass window I don't see how solid protects anything from window-breaking thieves. I'd prefer glass so I can see outside while sitting inside. What am I missing? Thanks.

Solid is very, very sturdy. So sturdy, in fact, that when my shovel decided to take flight during a recovery escapade, it bounced right off the hardware of the door framing. Didn’t even leave a mark. I also prefer having solid so people can’t see me in my birthday suit.

I went glass windoors for visibility reasons mostly and I don't plan on mounting anything to the sides of the Drifter. I plan on making some removable curtains for all the glass also.
