I got an electric lawnmower. I can't believe I got an electric, but it is awesome. Our yard is about 1/4 acre, and it cuts it on one battery charge (that only takes like a half hour to charge). It also folds up. I love that thing so far.

I saw one there, it's about $800 (I think), but smaller than the one for $1k at Home Depot. I am on the fence between those two.

Here at the cabin we have just a postage stamp size lawn.

Bought one of those old school reel push mowers. For what we have it's perfect - almost zero maintenance.

I went electric for weed whacker and blower. Really like them. Greenworks 60V

I have an EGO mower. I'll probably get the matching weed eater, which will allow battery swap.

I though about something simpler, but we have an incline in the backyard, I had to have self-propelled. I am also lazy I guess.

    Those are nice.

If you're not in a hurry, look for wherever EGO sells refurbished equipment. I love how quiet an electric weed whacker is - can definitely get out with it earlier on a summer Saturday morning without pissing off the neighbors than with a gas engine one.

Just found this, didn't even realize they sold them without the battery. I can use the mower battery. I'll probably pick this up this weekend.

I want the non selfpropelled, weedeater, and a refurbed hedgetrimmer tool only. Batteries are expensive.

I went in yesterday to buy a ladder, they wouldn't give me a discount as they said they need my dd214. My ID has a veteran tag on it from the state. Never had the issue before. Really pissed me off. It was 10 bucks, so its not really the discount that made me mad, just the fact that in order to get the veteran signifier on my drivers license I had to show the dmv my 214.

With Lowe's you have to register with them as a Veteran, but then you're good.

That sucks, I have a VA ID card that usually works. Lowe's does the phone number thing so it's much easier once you've been verified.

This one you could get for $360, trust me they're awesome.

That's the one I want. Thanks to @Boyk1182 talking about his VA home loan, the low interest rates, and my apartment raising my rent, we made an offer on a house that got accepted Monday, so we will be buying a lot of shit from HD. I guess I should go ahead and register at lowes as well just in case.

Seriously though, I have been making amortization tables and running numbers for 8 months now. So we just went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Awesome, congratulations! It's well worth it. We just bought a house in December, so coming from an apartment, I have been spending a lot on everything. Lawn equipment is what we're buying now, already bought a lot of furniture, maybe a deck for the backyard next year. And a grill. The list is pretty long right now.

It's worth it though. The mortgage (in our case) is quite a bit more than the rent was, but rent was rising at a rate that would have caught up eventually. I also enjoy doing things to this house that ADD value, instead of saying "someday" when I lived in apartments. I think our house has increased (according to Zillow) by like $11k in a few months!

That, and more, is instantly eaten up by agent commissions.
I just bought a house (and the one before that) without a buyer's agent. Saved me 2.8% at least.
Figured that was pertinent in an investment thread :D
