    Fun fact: if you remove the adapter plates you void the warranty on a Marlin crawl box crawl box purchased through Marlin.

    This morning:


    And it's still weeping at every seam.

    I just got off the phone with Marlin, they said they'll "do me a favor" and check the torque on the adapter and send it back because removing the adapter plates, even to clock it, voids the warranty.

    That's what they want, but I don't think I want them breaking the seals that are now good. I have one leak to contend with now instead of 3.5.

    That's what I was just thinking about. Some thick ass cork make-ur-own gasket. I'm just trying to build up the motivation to deal with it again.

    Might be better with sheet rubber. 1/8" or 3/16" should be plenty thick enough to make up any variation in the machining.
