Nope, nothing new. It's still 24/7 expo AF. I've been focusing on gun stuff and paying down my remaining debt while I wait for parks to reopen.

So that's my excuse to go get the exhaust re-routed behind the transfer case. Mostly because I don't feel motivated enough to fuck with it. But why can't it ever be the first thing that you're working on that breaks? Now I've got to put everything back together.

:annoyed: you didn't have to re-route it for the crawlbox support?

I found it from a tractor parts company in Oregon via Amazon. It's a 3.5" inlet CAT prefilter.

I had to rush the install and didn't have the time to get it done. Now that I've had the time I've been procrastinating lol. That and sidetracked with life and a few other projects.

I've got the support, just waiting for the rest of the steel to get here. Had to order online because the metal supply split shop has been closed to the public. They're only filling large commercial orders right now. I'm enjoying this vacation but I'm ready for things to go back to normal already.

Nice! I'm gonna have to grab me one. I've always liked those.

Ohhhhhhh fun! Now all those kids that were just starting to get confidence on the radio will have hit the reset button!

I’m not looking forward to that aspect but I’m glad the military traffic has died down. They are easy to work but makes life difficult with the little guys everywhere.

Ah. ok. Didn't realize you didn't get around to that. I have been procrastinating on my sticks because I need weld time and I can't weld. I think we're all ready for things to go back to normal!

I'm happy we only get the T6's. Other aircraft in the pattern already trip up students, those big guys you get would scare them shitless.

Do you have the RADesigns shifter?

We get those the most and C130s but also get T-38, C5, navy P3 and P8 and once in a while goss hawks and F-18s. The predator uav is annoying also at times.

That's got to be weird working a predator. I can only imagine how weird that has to be. There's no one in that thing! That's weird.

It’s not to bad working them just can’t sequence it since they can only see 270 around the front. But lawd they are slow on the runway and taxiing.

Pull and twist hard on that fat boy from Marlin. There a skinny one inside that is a lot easier to work with. I welded a thin pipe nipple to it, cut it to length, then welded a threaded bolt. You could probably drill and pin it. Hell, you could probably JB weld it, it doesn't get a lot of force on it and it'll be covered by a bit anyway. All the bending I did on that stick was to the skinny stick and the bolt.

    Edit: here's some pics

    Looks like this

That torch will work but it will take all your life but it's all I had available at the time in NC. Oxy/Acetylene will get it red hot in 1/10 the time.

    Here's my finished shifter

Ahh...I didn't realize that would come apart like that. That explains why yours looked like it was way down in opening in your initial test videos. Any chance you have pics of that? the radesigns ones should be simple. I just need to cut and weld an extension.

Pics added to the other post.

A deep well socket and extension will make short work of bending the shifters and the deep well won't put any pressure on the threads.

I just heated and bent the RADesigns shifters.

You can kinda see them all here. I'll snap a better picture of all three when I pull the box or again.

I also did not flip the Hurst shifter. I wanted to keep the trim around the shifter and wouldn't have been able to with it flipped. I just moved it as far towards the driver side as I could to clear the crawl box shifter.
