Holy shit the reverence some of you have for relationships YOU create is embarrassing.

 

I have an ongoing relationship with my favorite ski area, but due to circumstances, our status is currently "it's complicated"

 

Yeah but do you honor it with fresh pow pow

 

Every chance I get, but currently we're...taking time apart to "work on eachother"

 

There is always a happy middle. If it were me, I would say that you went further in a few weeks than I have in a few years. NBD though, it is your money.

On the fiancee side, if you guys have joint accounts, then she has a leg to stand on. If you don't then neither of you should be getting into financial discussions.

Just my thoughts.

My wife and I had joint accounts from way before we were married. It kept things simple and open. Almost 25yrs later, the only issues were the general lack of money and what we agreed to spend money on. As time went on, the undiscussed values have crept up and stayed comfortable.

 

My girlfriend doesn’t give a f**k what I spend my money on as long as bills are paid. She is also more than willing to give me time to work on the truck when needed.

These women are out there. She doesn’t care about the truck, but she knows I do, so she wants me to spend time with my second “lady”

 

Abso-freaking-lutely! You never know what tomorrow holds and it's better to protect yourself. But then again, don't get married and you won't have to worry about it.

Haha!! I’ve been married once. Current girlfriend knows it’s not happening again. I’m all about loyalty and monogamy, but marriage is a piece of paper. (My opinion, of course)

 

my opinion is both are gonna cost a fortune to maintain. the one taco doesn’t mind if you play with other tacos and one taco will cut you to pieces for playing.but it’s all good fun.dress them both up and take them out on the town and enjoy life

 

Knew a friend/coworker that said that. He started dating this girl and she was all for not getting married to since she was previously married as well and both were vocal in that there was no point to marriage. Fast forward four years and they got married...

 

Me and my wife have a joint and separate accounts.. the bulk goes to joint, whatever i have left is mine to do whatever with.. i bought a lot of stocks from work with mine for over a year now.. sold em in February and had a big chunk of cash to spend.. it just so happened to be at the beginning of a month long quarantine

 

Amen to this. I’ve said all of those exact words very recently to several people.

 

Same. Used some of the money I had in stocks (not all of it of course). I was already tracking COVID-19 when China started releasing news to the public and in late December when they said they were going to close factories, I sold 80% of my stocks and moved most to bonds. US was busy with impeachment news so not many knew.

Don’t you hate the “it’s complicated”

 

As long as the bills are paid and mouths fed it doesn’t matter what you spend the extra on… but if you own a house you should balance your mods between the two.

I don’t think I seen it mentioned yet but you opened this can of worms when you complained to her about the case she bought! If she’d taking care of her portion of responsibilities then it works both ways- you keep your mouth shut… lesson learned I hope

And....btw, natural is much better than bolt on's (in 'almost' all instances). plus, she'll let you spend the 5K+ on mods when you tell her she's hot as hell just the way she is!
