Stuffed Taco with 5.7L!

Has anyone tried to stuff a 5.7L engine into a Taco yet? That would be one sweet ride with some awsome getty-up! IMHO

TACOZILLA has one in his 1st gen truck.... I think he used a s10 frame though....
I have completed two V8 S10 swaps, pretty straight foward, super easy if you use an automatic trans. Straight drives take a little more effort... Which is what I have in my 2wd 92 Sonoma 406SBC with a 5speed tranny. I love it I did it myself in 2004.

 

Anyone else think it can be done... reasonably?

well, the 4runners can come with the 4.7L but the 5.7 is probably quite a bit bigger dimensionally. I'd love to see someone do it, A taco would haul ass with a 5.7 though!

 

the biggest issue i can forsee with a 5.7 in a taco would be the inability to have rear tires. im sure i would go through tires like a mother!!! haha with my 2.7 im glad to go for a test drive in a 4.0 a 5.7 would be heaven!!!

REASONABLY? Considering the motor is roughly 12 months old, getting your hands on one would not be easy; ie $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Then you would need to find someone willing to do the work to make it happen. Labor rates aren't cheap....you'd be better off buying a new Tundra at 0%.

Give it a few more years and I am sure Toyota's concept team will make it happen.
