My trusty old Line 6 Gearbox digitally bit the dust when Catalina made my system 64 bit - loved that software and had used it since 2008. Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement? Read Line 6's PodFarm wasn't as open sounding as Gearbox which is great for clean reverby tones, bluesy breakup, echo-y ambient stuff, and mid-boosted lead stuff.

    Not a Comet.
He's listing that model Roadstar as a 430.
Comets were a 1 year deal in 1984, so the year is right but they were RS135's not 430's.

    I have 4, 430 deluxe models.
So that ones just a Standard, with standard trem.
I think they were called "PowerRocker".

Well, certainly can't play the Ibanez since it's up in Oregon. I would likely be able to test out the Hummingbird. Although I feel like most of my issues I'm having with my Yamaha are due to it's old age and wear and tear things.

Gtk. Just looking around. If I got another I'd probably wake up to find my wife had beaten me to death with it. Baby steps. She is on board with my current rig. Showed interest in learning herself!

Lol. Ok. Last clarification. It is a Comet. Same layout and color as this one except this guy added an extra pickup in the neck position.

So it's not a 430 as listed. It's an 84, RS135 Comet series. One year only. So pretty special guitar.

@Matic any reason why a seller would be covering up the S/N? I'm looking at this sellers other listings, and in all of them he's got a brown piece of paper covering the S/N

Counterfeiters can make illegal copies with them. Interesting thing happened to me one time - I got a free guitar in a box at my old place about 6-7 years back. I tried to figure out who'd ship me a free guitar. After figuring out what probably happened, it looked like the last guy I shipped a guitar in a box to had re-used the box and returned a counterfeit Gibson Les Paul with a floating bridge to (I assume) China. After inspecting the guitar I was confident 8/10 of it being a counterfeit despite having a legitimate Gibson serial number after looking in the pickup / control cavity routing.

I guess China didn't want the guitar back and the only address on the box was my old shipping label still attached to the box. I gave it to a friend to make into a piece of art haha

    Makes sense.

Did you keep the guitar? And do you still have it?

Sorry I pulled the trigger on the post reply button too soon and edited most of that information in. I gave it to the friend and couldn't find a way to easily track down the potential guy that had returned the guitar - I didn't see any other address on the box.

I don't play but my buddy @TacomaDave did tell us about his playing this morning "When I was young I wanted to play the guitar really badly. After years of hard work, practice and determination, I can now play the guitar really badly." :D

My 2pm drive to work jams are usually anything from Slayer. This week's flavor is "South of Heaven".

I used to play a bit. Not so much anymore. My guitar has been under my bed for years. My hands and fingers got old and stiff.
