After I couldn't extend the ramp fully, and was loading my dog with a giant pink cast, I was yelling at her "thanks! Thanks for giving us all this space!"

Yes and no...yes less people obviously less risk.

I also know Williams College canceling their summer basically destroyed our hyperlocal economy as most seasonal businesses really depend on that crowd.

So when things bounce back, if there are no businesses and jobs to go back to...are we in decent shape? All we have is tourism around here these days, I can't really say having it disappear is a good thing.

If they don't get people working again, the states will have no income because no taxes and permits etc... Think of the money gone from the toll booths already alone

So then there is no jobs, no tax revenue and the extra federal stimulus is all gone. What do we do?

FED bailout round 10000 right?!?! WOOOOO :bananadance: Well, who the hell do you think they get their money from!:bananadead:

Bottom line IMO we need to get back to work if they want people and states to survive. There is a risk, and we should keep older and at risk populations under lockdown if needed until vaccine, but the healthy folk need to get back.:anonymous: I think all the PPP loans and extended unemployment are up end of May. Maybe thats a good time...

we enjoy China Eatery before you get to the circle. We all get a combo plate and every one is happy.. Budda Thai is surprisingly good, I do agree. I tend to stay away from the beach, other than a few times a year for Pier Fries. Honestly, I just don’t see people coming, I think the Canadian Border is still basically closed, so for any real numbers that needs to open.

I lived there for whatever many years and worked at Roccos for five. I’ve had pier fries like twice. The whole shit where you eat thing.

Never been to China eatery I’ll have to check it out if I’m allowed in this year. Honestly the Canadian border might open up before mills lets Maine. A lot of locals are upset but part of it is if they start to let things open, so many out of staters (NY) will come even if they shouldn’t.

Yup, can always be worse. However, trying to remain the 'glass is half full' guy is getting harder everyday.

Even better would be to find a window facing one of hers, throw a mask on but nothing else and give her the ole helicopter from inside your house.

So, one thing I've wanted to have for the longest time is a garage where I can do some legitimate fabrication work. Those of you who saw the 'garage' I had back in MA know how limited I was there. Well, up here in VT I have a nice 2 car attached garage and a single car detached garage at my disposal. I had an electrician out yesterday to give me an estimate on running a couple of 30A circuits in the attached garage (and a couple other small projects in the house) and he came back with a very reasonable price, so we're on for next week. I've got a decent 5HP/60 gallon Ingersoll Rand compressor ordered and I already own a small 175A MIG and a plasma cutter (both from Eastwood, not the best, but good enough for a hobbyist) that will be the foundation of my 'fab shop'. The first project on deck is the M416 that I'm building into an overland trailer, but after that I definitely want to see what else I can get into. Can you guys think of any simple Tacoma related stuff that I could work on to sharpen my skills?

    You mis-spelled Overlund..

That is awesome. My garage us under the house, and can't fit an SUV, let alone a lifted one with roof rack on 34s....

Cab mount chop and alignment tab reinforcements come to mind. After that, weld on sliders maybe?

so when are you putting in a lift?

my long term house requirement is at least a 1 bay that can have a lift that can at least get a Tacoma (preferably F150 as minimum requirement) high enough to rotate tires. Don’t need to be able to stand up underneath it but just high enough to free ball the suspension. Right now I have an attached 1 bay that might in theory fit a two post for sedans but definitely not the Tacoma.

we’re thinking on moving south but if we don’t. My next door neighbors have a detached two bay two story with an in-law above I would consider buying their house if/when it goes to market if the son doesn’t want it.

I'd love a lift and my garage has the overall height for it, but it also has a second floor that prohibits me from putting one in. I have considered walling off half the second floor and making one bay full height, but right now I've got an 8' ceiling to contend with. I can get all four wheels off the ground with the truck on stands, but there really isn't room for a lift as-is.
