    Thank you! I was debating whether to plasti-dip or paint. You have helped me make the decision. Paint it is! :cheers:

    Hadn't heard of this problem, I was planning to plasti-dip my wheels pretty soon. Might end up painting instead. When you say dipped do you mean you hydro-dipped them or sprayed?

    I sanded mine then used high heat paint from O'Reillys. 2 cans for 12 bucks and 4 hrs of work. Overspray finally is flaking off the tires, and has held to the wheels well.

    Unless ur thinking of changing colors in 2 yrs id do paint versus plasti dip. Cause a redo will be needed then

    Your truck is screaming for a new set of black rims. Then you can turn those white letters inward.

    Agreed. That’s the plan. I might plasti-dip or spray them for the short term, but black rims are needed.

    for the Qa1 coilovers, what would be the correct compressed/extended height?

    Has anyone confirmed u can lift the 5 lugs with them? I always heard they lowered the trucks.. do u go with a higher spring rate for lift?

    i've seen a couple pictures of some trucks with just the QA1's on the front with just the AAL on the rear, they look pretty mean. im guessing that if you just crank them up to a decent height. she'll sit pretty

    Lift or drop is limited by the factory bumpstops on the front. The problem is no one makes aftermarket UCA or LCA and offset bushings only help so much. Plus the proper way to lift a 6 lug is with Upper, Lower control arms and Coilover’s why would the 5 lug be different? It’s the parts that are different.

    Spring rate should be based on the weight of the truck.
    Update;
    I have 525 in/lbs front springs and trust me the ride is definitely on the firm side & I have my QA’s adjusted at 6 out of 16⚠️ Plus the QA1’s can go from My shocks are blown to My shocks are frozen.
    I’m also looking to sell the front shocks & springs because I want a shorter shock and lighter springs...

    Ya i saw when i was checking lbjs a few days ago the bumpstop limits downtravel on my first gen 5 lug. Thatd be something id cut and put a new bumpstop lower later on, but are the qa1 part numbers same for first and second gen 5 lug?

    after the AAL, the strut spacer, and a coil spring spacer. This what she's sitting at now. I either plan on going with the Bilstein 4600 with an Old Man Emu spring or the QA1's

    When I put my Fabtech kit with uca, spindle, and coils, I cut the bump stops off. The coils pushed the uca all the way down to the frame. Cutting the bumps off gave the truck a couple more inches of lift but was maxed out on down travel. It needed limit straps but I didn't get that far before I got rid of the truck.

    That'd be exactly what I'd hope for with using v6 coils and spacer since it'll limit down travel preloading it. How long u think I could run without putting limit straps on it? Would it screw the shocks up extending further?

    Want to find a shop to fab up some beefier lbs brackets too before jumping to bigger tires. The Tw member who sold his lbs brackets on here is no longer active sadly
