Slowly coming to the end of where I can’t do anything until the tools I ordered get here.

Installed a new to me steering wheel that’s less beat up.

Also attempted to install my SS brake lines. Got the rears on without issue

Both fronts gave me issues. They wouldn’t thread on so I’m gonna try and cut off the first part of the flare nut since they look boogered up. If not I’ll just fully replace both nuts. Opinions??

For some reason the stock ones wouldn’t even go back on.

I also fixed my windshield washer tubes. Glad both front and rear are now working.

But some good news! Coilovers will be here tomorrow evening and installed Monday :woot:

Actually I just realized trying to cut that nut is going to be a PITA. So I’ll probably just cut the flare off and throw on a new nut and reflare the line

Hey not sure if you had caught any of the might car mods build yet but they swapped in some seats from the ae86/bra/Toyota 86 amd there is a company that makes an adapter bracket so its a simple swap and they said its a huge upgrade if you ever come across a set for cheap you might look into it

As long as you have enough length in the line.

So Harbor Freight was taking forever to ship my tools so I snagged some coupons and went and got them. So I'll return the ones once they ship ha. Finally got some shit moving now, got the front subframe out, exhaust dropped and elbow off. Boy what a PITA to get on of the nuts off, I'll try and remember to take a pic of it literally had to heat that bitch 5-6 times glowing red :bananadead: But got it off! Also was having a hard time getting the drain plug on the transmission off so once the exhaust was dropped I threw on the big ol impact and zipped it off.

I got the UCA's all cleaned up and put the new bushings in

And UPS delievered a package last weekend

:bananadance: Pretty excited now that I can get shit moving! Next comes the rear subframe, fuel filter, re FGIP the oil pan and then start reassembling things

Wow that stock exhaust has a lot of 90° bends. It's a turbo restriction everywhere you look

Some pics I forgot and the offending hardware

This bastard would not budge even with a box end wrench. So once the CAT was moved out of the way out came the big guns

Also got this bitch glowing red a few times. Spent about 30 minutes rotating it 30 degrees every time.

Stealing these pics so I can save them for later, since the subframe will be out may as well reinforce it for the future

Man those bolts really didn't wanna give up the goods huh? I hate removing turbo back housings, I always seem to loose a nut or stud to galling or stripping. Have you had to remove the crank pulley on the 7M yet? I'm wondering if it's just a bad as the 2J, I broke a few tools trying to get that damn thing loose before it finally gave way.

Not yet, I plan on doing the timing belt and water pump later down the road, so that should be fun

Alright so I cut the very tip off of the brake lines and have a double flaring tool but the 3/16” die won’t go into the hardline. Is it because the lines are metric and I’ll need the metric die? Because 3/16” is 4.76mm and the metric die (don’t have one) is 4.75. so is that .01mm really making it a PITA or is there something else I need to do?
