I use 50lb Braid to a 15lb Fluro leader. But that’s my Dropshot setup.

Also totally want to see what you come up with for the floors and seats! Hopefully that bracing I did on the seat doesn’t come back to bite you in the ass! Hahaha

Haha I got the braces off last night, drilled out all those rivets!! I'm going to re use them though. Want to make a little storage under the benches and put the foam back in under the floor. We shall see if it works. Pretty much just doing it to kill the time at this point.

@Porter707 hows the custom dropshot rod build going? I ended up snagging another rod yesterday (Daiwa Tatula) for my dropshot/ned rigs and remembered you had a cool one being built not too long ago.

Picked up enough stuff to get out on Monday. We should be somewhere along the Delta as long as there's no one else around. Only ever really fished for trout while backpacking so I'm stoked to try something new. 20200501_074832.jpg

Letttssss Gooooo! Awesome man! Where are you putting in at? Depending on where you're putting in, I can shoot you some spots where I have done well for black bass. Also, the tide schedule will become your new best friend when fishing for these bass out there. Best times to be out fishing is when the tide is coming in and/or at the highest. As soon as the tide starts to go out, fishing can become extremely tough. I typically use Deltaboating.com to check for the tide schedule on any given day.

We're just going to shore fish, but I have no idea where yet. Haven't gotten that far planning. I decided to start tearing the boat apart so I'm going to need a couple of weeks to put it back together. Hopefully by the time this is over we will have a posse out there over Summer.

I’ll PM you a couple decent bank spots where I’ve had success over the last year.

Good, should probably be done this weekend. I got the wife one too so it slowed mine down as the guys going to ship both together.

I also just got a rod building kit too, going to try and start wrapping my own rods. Figure got to do something to keep me busy when all this shit is going on.

I'd love to do a camping/fishing trip. I'll definitely come up that way this summer. Going to start the interior build tomorrow as long as Home Depot isnt a clusterfuck. I'll send you progress pics!

yup, bought a couple T-Shirts, a AFTCO sun shirt, some tungsten weights, some Roboworms, couple packs of ned rig worms and some hooks.

didn’t really go for the gift certificate just to help support them. Was nice to get one though!

The Delta was good to me and my brother today. Ended up catching 40ish smallmouth/largemouth bass and losing probably another 30 good bites. Mostly smaller ones, but a few 2lb+ ones as well. We started at about 9 am (as the tide was starting to come back in) and floated about a miles’ worth of the slough.

Jigs are KING out there right now. Can’t say it enough. At one point I watched these guys float by in their boat and fish a section of bank I wanted to fish, but since they beat me to it, I watched in the distance until they moved on. Big spinners and crankbaits is what they had... and not a single fish in the boat. I fished the same section of bank literally a couple of minutes later and caught 5-10 bass with a green pumpkin jig/plastic.

Side note: Unless I got a bad one, Shimano Clarus rods suck! I’ve never had a rod snap on me ever, and today my Clarus snapped while getting a jig out of a bush. I’ve had it for a month, today being the third time using it. Total bummer.
