The 1up is awesome and I don't get too much movement on mine, even with a rack attach swing-out pushing it further out from the truck. I'd definitely strongly consider Alta racks if I were buying again.

I wouldn't get a north shore rack. I've seen bikes fall off of those on rough dirt roads. It also worries me that the bike hangs by the fork crown, but maybe I'm just being silly. The Recon and Lolo racks also looks interesting, but I've never seen either in person.

Whatever you pick, get your truck stuck so we can watch the recovery on Winder Towing’s YouTube channel. First Spring in 3 years I haven’t been out there

This question has probably been beaten to death, but are they any great options for racks for a swingout bumper? Specifically, Pelfreybilt. I'm thinking a rooftop carrier on my shell/Prinsu rack is probably the best bet, but not ideal if taking trails. The other option is welding a hitch receiver on the swingout arm, but knowing how heavy most carriers are I'm not sure that's the best idea.

Probably a little late, but newer Chameleons ride pretty great. I was on a steel Kona before and the Chameleon rode just as good if not better from a material perspective. I built up an NS Eccentric between Kona and Chameleon and it was super harsh - not all aluminum bikes are equal.

    Speaking of 29+ love...

I tried the steel hardtail plus ride a couple years ago. Mid forties and a lifetime of hucks on skateboards, snowboards, and bikes makes for some sore-ass knees after even a short ride.

Well you can take your chances, to be honest it's pretty confusing how they have gone about closing it. I think because there are people who live inside Pisgah, they cant just say, "CLOSED" so they have a huge list of trails and areas that are closed. But the intent is for it to be closed.

Yeah, fully rigid makes my jaw and knees hurt after a short while. Something like a Stache with a little squish up front really makes a difference.

So as I was packing last night, I went and found my camelbak. Turns out I forgot to empty it after my last ride with it...from last May on the Whole Enchilada. #oops

50oz of gatorade that resembled a gulf oil spill during a red tide came out. :puke: Whatever, at least it's clean now.

Braver man than I, I would have just chucked it and got a new bladder.

It was one of the military ones where the bladder is more or less integral to the pack, and I really didn't feel like trying to dismantle it last night and break something. Couldn't have gotten a replacement in time anyways.

Buying direct from Absoluteblack results in some interesting payment details. I don’t do much international buying/ordering so this was new to me.
