vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

@OVTune, @Rafael@OVTune does vF update via internet or does a new updated version need to be downloaded and installed for every update? For example, back on the 23rd i downloaded and installed and set up my vF when i got my master key. With today's launch, will a new version be getting rolled out that I'll need to grab or will Tacoma support populate using an internet connection, no updating required? Asking because I don't see an option for manually updating over the air in the drop downs

 

yes, we just released the newest 2020 version last night, and will be releasing more

The newest version can always be downloaded from the same link, or from the download button on our website.
when you download a new version, just install it and it will install over the old version

Mat i copied and pasted my registration info and when i click register i get this
"Master Key(Email)not recognized"
Tried typing everything also no change.

Just ordered the whole dang deal. Cable, VF Tuner, Flash library. So stoked to tune my 2020 MT and find out what this truck is supposed to feel like!

I see a few of you guys are getting "not recognized" errors.

a few things:
1. You must have internet connection to register
2. you MUST, no exception, be the admin account of your computer
3. When you put your name there cannot be any spaces. "John Doe" should be "JohnDoe"

 

Do you have to wait on a p5f key or are you just waiting on the cable at this point? I need to order a cable and the tune library I guess.

Im not seeing the tacoma 3.5 folder in vftuner folder? also no unlocked IDs in the license info from the help screen. I think i must be missing something?

So just to clear up confusion on my part, as soon as 2.0f is released, that will be added to the ecu tune pack for your given ecu? Also same with boost maps?

 

Sorry they are in the folder "Tacoma"

And to unlock an ID you have to open the file for your ECU ID. Hopefully you know your ECU ID from before.. if not you can use Flash utility to get it.

I highly recommend reading every step in the vF Tuner instructions

 

Thanks Matt, at the risk of being daft...i am 04b04....so I know that from being tuned for the last couple of years. all good there. I dont see a tacoma folder, even searched my drive. I read the instructions, used the open folder icon, navigate to the vF tuner folder....and see this.....dont see that those files are labeled to anything I have seen before and know which of those I would unlock using one of my credits.

 

did you download vF tuner installer before we updated it? looks like you installed an older version

 

I did but then downloaded again from your last post saying it was updated to 00011 and installed.

 

when you download vF Tuner Installer it should be 46.7mb in size.
I just tested on my computer, the "download" button on the front of our website is the latest version
the EDITOR in "about" will still say 1.009

but if you RIGHT CLICK "vf tuner installer" "details" tab will be 1.0011


not that you have to do any of that. Just make sure you have downloaded the latest version.

 

just to close this out, i downloaded again, still 1.009, rereshed OVTuned.com and redownloaded, same, completely remove with windows uninstall, same thing, switched from Brave browser to chrome, opened up new OVTuned.com site, downloaded...got it 1.0011.

not sure what that was about, perhaps browser retaining something...thanks Matt

 

Uninstalled vftuner from a couple days ago. Reinstalled from the new download button on VF tuner page. Get the same message.
"Master Key(Email)not recognized" Followed your instructions Mat no spaces on user name copy and pasted email and master key.
