What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Replaced my steering wheel and did the cruise control mod!!

 

Tackled the serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioner swap. Belt was like new so I have a trail spare now.

 

How long did it take you? Any special tools required?

 

1.5 hours from start to finish, first time and that includes skid plate removal and reinstall.

No special tools required. Breaker bar or long handled socket wrench, torque wrench, 14mm socket, 13mm socket (for my tensioner replacement bolt). That's it. I got the kit from Rockauto for $200 shipped that had all the pulleys, belt and tensioner.

 

Did DTRL mod w/LEDs and sealed my leaking window cowl.

 

do the all the buttons work on the wheel?

 

Icon rxt installed in rear and finished 5100 in front at highest setting and new JBA UCA. Got alignment done also

I don't have info display on my 05, and I'm still researching the climate controls.

 

thank you, would like to do similar on mine, wasn't sure of compatibility. Pretty sure it has been done before. So you got a new wheel w/ switches and new airbag?

From eBay. The wheel is dealer surplus. The airbag is from a junkyard.
The wheel is 45100-07221-B2
The bag is 45130-07072-B2
There are several threads that explain what you have to do, but you will spend hours going through them to get most of your questions answered. The rest you just figure out (trial and error).
