IMG_0296.jpg Excuse the dirty rim but wednesday 4/29/2020 i took my truck in for the 20,000 mile service which was an oil change and tire rotation. I got home and check my engine bay to see if everything was ok and it was but as soon as i tried closing the hood, it wasnt closing right. I didnt think about too much because i hardly open the hood lol so i just let it be. Friday 5/1/2020 i took it back for the tire rotation because they werent able to do it that day because i forgot the bolt for the XD rims that i have and so i took it and got home to this (Pic) yes they scratched my rim! Now i could say its my fault because i forgot to give them the Allen wrench but then again they could of asked me for it. Anyway i plan to take it back in and see what they say. What do you guys think???

Just saying but you should keep the adapter and the Allen key somewhere in your truck. Never know if you’ll need to change a tire on the highway

I wouldn't even notice but I'm sure some on here will tell you to demand a new truck .

Edit -- and I do try to take great care with my vehicle.

What’s the condition of the rest of the wheel? Looks like it has oxidation or something.

That’s a tough one to call. I get your complaint completely, if you can’t remove these bolt on center caps those scratches will occur most of the time.
Most of the time express maintenance techs are oblivious to things like that. They are usually flat rate and are hustling out tire rotations and oil changes as fast as they can. Some young techs will remove them and then re install the caps with a electric bit driver. They’ll crack em most of the time upon re-install due to running the bolts down in a hurry with electric impacts or bit drivers.
Knowing what I know, if I were you I’d remove my center caps before arrival and have your wheel lock key in the cup holder any time you go to a dealership or service shop.

If you don’t use it often, the hinge can get crusty, corroded & etc. Hit the hinge with some WD40 and it’ll latch much better. There shouldn’t have done anything to your hood during a normal service.

Regardless of the purpose of your truck I don’t think it’s wrong to expect that it’s not going to damaged during a service.

Looks like you should stop washing your car with Dawn dish soap or whatever harsh soap you are using, it is removing the UV and clear coat on the paint.
