    20200430_075526.jpg 20200430_075552.jpg So I drove 1400 miles towing a U-haul from Colorado to Tacoma WA with no issues. Parked on a side street and woke up to this. Uninsured hit and run. Frame, suspension, left side of bed all need replacement. 3 months turn around.
    Question: What do y'all think about rhino lining the new frame and rock sliders before its installed?

    I think rhino linking might void and frame rust replacement in the future, but thatll get a little funky with the current frame swap. Water can also get under rhino lining if applied incorrectly. I'd recommend por 15 for sure other wise. Rhino lining sliders would be pretty neat and grippy to if you plan on using them as steps

    Actually the frame didn't bend. It broke the welded brackets that hold leaf springs.

    Well Tacoma is my new home now, so the question is how do I go offroading/camping with no truck?

    As a resident of Western Washington for 36 years, dont bother lining the frame. We dont get bad rust on this side of the mountains. No salt either, so rust isn't that pervasive up here.

    Edit: wWelcome to the PNW. Prepare for the Seattle Freeze.

    That sucks. Bring that you’re now in Tacoma, and it never stops raining, rhino line them.

    Oh, welcome to Tacoma.

    Rain =/= rust

    We dont typically apply underbody coatings or fluids up here. It seems counterintuitive, but rust isn't a huge issue in the Western part of the state.

    Yeah, I know. 20 years there in the miserable sunless hell of perpetual drizzle. I-5 is a nasty filthy highway. Rather have it lined than not. And while the rain doesn’t cause rust, the magnesium chloride spray that they lay down sure doesn’t do us any favors.

    Exactly! That's what tore up the paint on my sliders and AAL/leafs back in Denver.

    OP, when the restaurants open back up, you’ll have to go over to Dirty Oscar’s Annex. Everything is pretty damn good, but the elk sliders and parm tots are pretty amazing.
    Same goes if you ever head to Renton, look up a place called Peyrassol Cafe. Fucking incredible food.
    Aside of those two places, and El Gaucho, Washington sucks.

    Welcome to the club. My uninsured girl did give us $1700 after I went to her work and called her ass out. We only drive this truck 10 miles a week so was not a big deal, and she did make a effort to pay.

    Yikes! Hopefully a bed and bumper was all the damage. No ruptured gas tank?
