Is it just me or are theses like the dumbest jeeps to have and to lift. My buddies sister has one and she has spent way to much money on lifting it and everything else, and she thinks its the shit. it has a 5 inch lift with 33's and my taco only has a 3 inch with 33's and mine still has better clearance and still is bigger. :D

I mean im not a complete jeep hater but she is one of thoses people that wont shut up about it and wont stop saying how much better it is than tacoma's. But i always say well, its funny how jeep compares there WHOLE line of products that are specifically ment for offroad to toyota's 2 main offroaders the tacoma and 4runner, and they still manage to be just as good if not better.

She always says that her is straight axle, and i response well i have no freaking clue why they would be a straight axle on a soccer mom car! I dunno, if this is a basis opinion but it seems like people with jeeps are usually real douche bags.

At one point i kind of wanted a cherrokee or maybe a hard top wrangler but after listening to her bitch about how cool her jeep is, i dont if wanna think about getting one ever!

My wife has a grand Cherokee 4x4 dual lockers Hemi this all comes stock pretty capable ride. I know we are all Toyota bias here in TW but I think some of have to admit you have to put alot of many into a tacoma to get dual lockers 300+ HP. I've had 85 toyota rock crawler it was awsome but I had 10k to 12k in it. I also had a Jeep CJ7 i only had about 6K in that they performed the same its all about your perference. Bigger doesn't mean better go climb some off camber stuff with a grand cherokee with lockers you will be surprised what they can do. I love my yotas but Jeeps been doing things alot longer. I don't think I'm a doche bag but I've been called worst, again a straight axle is far superior to IFS flexing and strength. Don't talk shi* on her Jeep you might be on the trail one day with her and your IFS might break something, her Straight axle problay won't.

Jeeps are very capable, but just wait till they start breaking and your dumping money into they all the time. I've had 2 Jeeps and my family have had many. They are great when everything is working but rarely does that happen.

I agree with some problems in jeeps, but I only had a few minor ones with mine it's all about preventitive maintance. I do agree yotas are less prone to problems and easier to work on. But there something about the sound of a v8 and having the power espeically in the sand dunes or mud

i agree with you on that one, the v8 would be nice for mud..but is the v8 needed for any other reason? i mean its not like you can tow anything big anyways..

x2222222..... Mine was a 96 GC w/ the 318 V8. I loved the power but after dumping thousands of $$$ into it and then having the transmission go out. I was done. There was something about the sound/power of the V8 that made that thing a beast!

My sister had a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and traded it in after 3 years and 40,000 miles. She said the damn thing just made too many noises for her plus the fact that it just stopped on her twice on the highway.

Mostly the styling. I can't really comment on the performance since I have never seen one in person, but the IFS & IRS are not promising.

My reason why I would never get a Jeep is plain and simple, its made by Chrysler, and that there is the reason I would never get one.

Why? They're finally going back to their 2000ish roots. My wife has a 2001 Grand Cherokee and it's the shit. 4.7L V8 300ft/lbs torque, full time 4WD. And if you get the Quadra Drive it's pretty much ATRAC. Front and back, side to side power distribution to the wheels.

Not bad for 2001. All it's needed so far is oil changes, spark plugs and a new fuel filter since it was bought.

    And they look badass lifted.

[IMG] Not ours but same year, colour and configuration, minus the lift, tires and rack.

Wife had a 04 Limited with the V-8. It was one of the most luxurious vehicles I ever owned. Power everything, the Infinity stereo was amazing Heated leather with memory seating. I love the Taco, but I miss some of those features.

theres a real d bag at school who has the ultimate mom jeep i forget what year it is but its the grand cherokee with plastic rocker panels and just looks like plain shit even with a 5 inch lift and fat km2s. i think jeeps are pretty sick, but i would only mod out the more "offroad" models
