Not heated in 2nd Gen but the Honda Pilot my mother owns and the Cadillac and G470 my fancy uncle owned all had heated leather seats and they were still hell to initially sit on and theeeen sweaty and uncomfortable when warmed up. Leather sucks haha

Love the leather in my pro. Won’t own a truck without leather. I hunt all over the country. Mud, blood, and grime is way easier to get off leather then cloth. Heated seats are a plus. Full ceramic tint on the windows plus the windshield. Never had an issue with it being to hot.

For me, heated/cooled leather > heated cloth > cloth > heated leather > leather. My Kia and my Lexus have heated and ventilated seats. The Lexus has alcantara inserts so it’s a little different than straight up leather, but it’s still nice. The Telluride’s ventilated seats are AMAZING. It gets cold even in 105 degree Arizona heat. If the Tacoma had that option from the factory I’d take it.

As for the shiny issue some have mentioned, it’s completely dependent on the cleaner. I use Sonax and it’s awesome. Matte finish and no lingering scent.

The Tacoma has real leather. If Toyota says leather, it's leather, not SofTex. If it says SofTex, it's SofTex.

Again, when it is listed as leather, real leather from an animal is used. Toyota doesn't just say leather and then not use leather at all.
Toyota uses leather for their seats when they say leather seats. Yes the Tacoma leather seats use actual leather. In the 4Runner for instance you can get cloth, SofTex, or leather depending on package and options. They don't just give you SofTex when you order one with leather, lol.

    Because the Tacoma uses leather.

Caveat to everything I just posted is that leather is used, that does not mean all of the seat is leather. Most Toyotas that use leather for their seats these days typically use synthetic leather for the bolsters and sides as it holds up to wear and tear better than real leather does.

Yeah, I know, bro. Just trying to get people to do their own research.”I read this one time on TW, bro, must be true.” People seem to think that Toyota’s own synthetic leather (Softex) is used in Tacoma’s. It’s not. Those people did disappear, after leather shaming people, in this thread.

Being honest here: didn’t expect to join a truck forum and hear a bunch of grown men complain about the temperature of their seats.

I will never opt for leather. I live in Tampa Fl where it get hot a fuck and so does the leather seats plus they crack, get scratches and are slippery when you are wearing certain types of cloths.

I absolutely HATE leather seats. I have had two vehicles with leather seats and hated both. When searching for my current truck "NO LEATHER SEATS" was near the top of my must have list.

Leather is way easier to clean imo. Cloth gets disgusting after awhile if you get in dirty.

One of the dealers I spoke with said some of their customers that hunt with dogs prefer leather. Easier to clean up a muddy mess. I bought a truck with cloth though.

Cloth seats are trash, change my mind. They’re almost as bad as chrome.

I've had Wet Okole seat covers since 2001 on every vehicle I drove. They're the best of both worlds and look awesome, but not cheap.

All I know, is that Carhartt seat covers look like skid-marked tighty-whities that sag in the butt.

And yet you took the time to read the thread and post a reply? What’s more ridiculous, complaining/discussing leather or being a guy who complains about voluntarily reading a thread he think’s he’s too manly for?

We have leather in our Sienna, and cloth in everything else. While I own up to owning / driving a minivan, I HATE the leather, my back gets so hot and sweats like crazy. Luckily it’s the wife’s van, and she’s always cold. :D

Eh, preference. There are pros and cons to both. I prefer cloth myself, but I don't smoke in my car or spill shit all over. Main reason being during the summer, I usually wear shorts, crop tops, etc. so I either burn myself or have to peel my thighs off a seat. If I were a man, I might actually prefer leather, lol. Black interiors also don't seem preferable, just more shit to get hot and bake in the sun. Just get a wet vac for your cloth and you're good to go. Leather might also be great for people go get super muddy all the time, but we off road and we don't really get too messy. With weather tech mats we do just fine. Cleaning cloth isn't that bad, there is some upkeep to leather interiors that needs to be made for longevity purposes too.
Like I said, I can see why people like either one.

You do realize you just did exactly what you criticized me for?

its like running a red light after me and then calling me out for it.
