I believe you're right that more exact words from him were 'You can't afford it'. For the purpose I was asking about anyway.

 

I was hanging out with the neighbors today, including Ryan, who installed my stereo system and backup camera; Ryan has a 6-year old daughter, and pictures of her with my truck when we installed the subwoofer and amp can be found in this thread. My other neighbors have a 6-year old son who is absolutely infatuated with classic cars and hot rods; I got to talking with him about video games, and it was over when he found out I have GTA 5. Obviously, his parents do not let him play Grand Theft Auto, but he watches gameplay videos on YouTube and knows quite a good deal about GTA 5 from that; If he was 6-8 years older, I'd let him come over and play it, but I cannot in good conscience expose a first grader to GTA 5! He kept peppering me with questions about it, and I showed him a picture of an Enus Stafford like the one I had that got blown up by another player; I also showed him the iFruit app and the "Chop the Dog" minigame. I deemed these things to be appropriate to show a 6-year old, as they contained no profanity or other inappropriate content.

 

I may be 31, but I do have a few videogames in my collection that would be appropriate for a 6-year old to play, including Monster Jam. I also showed him Car Mechanic Simulator, which I currently have on order from Amazon. He immediately wanted the Xbox version of the game (I have a PS4) and since his birthday is in July I not only encouraged him to ask his parents for it but also showed the game to mom and dad, who immediately approved.

Upon hearing that my young neighbor enjoyed hot rods and watching YouTube, I looked up the official music video for ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man (which features Billy Gibbons' 1933 Ford, Eliminator) and let him watch it; I can proudly say that I've gotten a 6-year old into ZZ Top

Just one kid who likes real music is a win in my books!

I also have a ton of car magazines that I never read, which are just gathering dust in boxes; Most of these 3-5 years old or older, and I do not have the heart to throw them out...

With mom's blessing, I have decided to give him some of my magazines...

And, I also love rolling down my windows and cranking the likes of Gimme All Your Lovin', Sharp Dressed Man, Tush, and Cheap Sunglasses, among others, in my truck

CadZZilla! Built in the late 1980s, this work of art reportedly cost Gibbons about $900K (I say again, this was in the 1980s)!

 

As someone who just had an "at fault" accident and only had liability insurance I would say. Go liability if you have money to cover major repairs from an accident out of pocket and have access to a second car incase you can't drive the truck for a while or you plan on selling soon.

Renting and borrowing a car from your employer is not fun.
