My OEM automatic locking tailgate is broken. Wondering if there's an fix to this that I'm missing.. The metal lever (single arrow) won't stay attached to the white plastic piece on the actuator(?). I reattached it, operated the lock, and the metal lever just kind of pops off the thing. Thoughts?

(I just used the pop&lock photo as reference. Mine is not a pop&lock, but it looks identical)

(it came on the truck when I bought it, don't know/don't care if Toyota offered a power locking tailgate on the 2016 model)

Not sure the path forward since I never did this mod to my truck but auto tailgate lock wasn’t an option in 2016. It could have been a dealer aftermarket add on for your truck since it wasn’t factory.

Pop and lock does offer numerous replacement parts including the metal levers. https://vehiclesecurityinnovators.com/product-category/pop-lock/accessory/

I bought the truck used, it has an automatic locking tailgate that locks and unlocks using the keyfob. I don't care how it got there, I'm just asking how to best fix the thing.

Thanks.. after looking at that pop&lock accessories page it appears mine is, in fact, a pop&lock tailgate lock but unbranded. Thanks for the help!

I've got one or two friends.. I'm looking for a way to fix it properly. Thinking of replacing it with a KTJO power lock if I can find one.

UPDATE: Many of you have contacted me asking for an update so here it is:
KTJO is legit. Much, much better product than the Pop&Lock tailgate lock that came on my truck from the dealer. I installed the KTJO automatic tailgate lock easy cheesey; no drilling required. The supplied bracket screws right onto the backup camera housing. The wires coming out of the KTJO were a scoche smaller gauge than the Pop&Lock wires that run to the power lock in the passenger door but plugged in easy enough. I just crimped the two together and sort of zip tied them so they wouldn't accidentally bump loose.
Solid piece of equipment. I recommend KTJO.
