vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

It’s little things like this that drive me crazy. Can’t get back 4 hrs of my life that I just waisted on this!

 

Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the install file.

STEP 0: Verify the filename: vF+Tuner+Installer+10011.exe, and file size: 47,835 KB
STEP 1: Right-click on the downloaded file
STEP 2: choose "Properties"
STEP 3: Scroll over to the Details tab. It should say "Product Version 1.00011", and "Size 46.7 MB".... like this:

 

This may be a dumb question, but after everyone sent in the VF tuner ID from plugging in the master ket, etc. What did you receive back in an email? Was it another key to plug in somewhere, or did VFtuner just magically run?

 

Received nothing so far. I think 2019 will be out Sunday?

Read this CLEARLY: The newest install size is 46.7mb. When you open vF tuner if you got to "about" it will still say 1.0009. But if you go into the vF Tuner install folder, it will have various folders with tunes (RCF GSF, TUNDRA, TACOMA).



As we posted earlier, this is a staged release.
Yesterday was 2016-2017 Auto trucks
Today planning for 2018 Auto trucks
Tomorrow 2019 Auto Trucks
Monday 2020 Auto trucks

Then MT Trucks all next week.

2017 AT here. Dongle trade-in. Still no keys. Do I need to submit another ticket? Order #6324.

 

Not necessary, if you sent one already we have received it and are sorting through.

Hey when you get it all figured out can you break the process down in Layman’s terms for me starting with putting your dongle in the mail?

Tried vF Tuner today on my stock file to see about increasing the charging voltage.
Before making changes, I was seeing about 13.74 volts across the battery with my Fluke meter; while driving Scangauge was showing 13.6.
After just bumping up the Excitation Voltage Max from 13.99 to 14.39 - no change at idle or while driving.
Bumped up the Minimum Duty by the same percentage to 69.78 - no change at idle or while driving.
In driving situations voltage was fairly constant on the scangauge taking rpms up over 3k - fluctuates between 13.5 and 13.6.
Either I'm doing something wrong or we need to find other values to tweak for AGM batteries.

2. Email zen desk ticket stating you sent dongle back with your ECU I’d, email, truck make and system ID

3. Follow instructions to load VFTuner. With Master key email Mat will send back to you

4. Await P5F registration key and 2.0 final

04B04. In looking at the first data element under Alternator, I'm curious if Duty Modulation is limiting this. It appears to only allow a % of duty based upon ECT.

So you are saying, keep sitting tight, even though have received no vF master key or replacement tuning reg?
Perhaps it would help to let us know when you are done with vF Tuner keys (as I ASSUMED May 1 for all vF keys), or how long to wait until we resend because our Zendesk got 'Lost'... (or do we PM you? as I now see you mention PMs as a form of communication after I recall that was extremely discouraged previously).

 

If you are a person who sent us a dongle, we have to verify the dongle, sent the registration to our outside dev, and wait for keys from him. A portion of that process is outside of my control.
And it is important for everyone with a dongle to understand that the day you sent your ticket in for a request is not relevant to when you get your key. When we receive the dongle, verify it and get keys back is when you do. Some people have sent us their registrations and have not even returned their dongles at all.

If it is related to vF Tuner specifically, pming me is ok.
But if it is related to anything regarding "2.0 tune" use zendesk.


I know some of you guys have been waiting a while. Simply put I cannot make this go faster.

 

Understand, and appreciate, I really do.
I sent in my system ID with second Zendesk 2.5 weeks ago and my dongle arrived at PO per tracking 2 weeks ago, don't want to bother you but just want a yardstick of when you feel it is still in the works vs lost is all... no major hurry but I know stuff will get lost in the shuffle with this many things going at once and but I find it isnt good if let things fall thru the cracks for too long a period of time. (Vendors in general sometimes 'blame' the customer if we don't report discrepancies in a timely manner)
