I didn’t get the shackle. Maybe I’ll do that instead of getting the add a leaf. The add a leaf will be a pain in the ass.

How much lift did you gain with the Dakar’s? How does it ride? I need to buy some, was debating about the AAL due to the shell

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
psst...Eric at Archive has a new leaf pack underway. I have the dakar medium and it's anemic with only firewood and some marshmallows I'd go for the HD pack. Ive had the leaf for aal...for a long time because it's a pita. I'll just get a better pack from Eric. Also ARB lost my vote on their inaction on leaf binding in the rear shackle.

3” exact with the shell. You want me to measure for you?

I also don’t like how much they sag when loaded up. Anytime there is a big load they drop a lot.

Huh really that’s a bummer, how much does it sag when you have a load? I usually have a load when I’m wheeling so my concern is if I will sag enough to rub
3 inches is pretty solid, oh hey how much of a pain was it to extend the brake lines? Haven’t messed with brake lines before. Any idea how much it drops with a load? Usually I have a load when I wheel and I have 33s, curious if it will rub

i have a cap, and with the bumper and a load its hitting the hydrobumps often.

edit: I know I'm overweight in the rear when loaded but even with just empty it's kinda lackluster.

I didn’t extend my lines and I haven’t had a problem. I don’t wheel as hard as you though. With a load it drops a few inches for sure. I’d get Dakar’s HD or get the pack with a add a leaf.

1st gen dakar pack don't necessarily come in HD, the pack itself is already HD and you can remove a leaf to make it medium duty (i think 3rd from the bottom). @Nicklovin i'm installing the dakars + aal soon and will be throwing the flippac on and can let you know how much it sags before and after

Yeah. I forgot about that. Can I change shackles to get a little more lift? I'm sagging a little in the back due to my shell.

i was afraid that the dakars were gonna sag for me so i ordered the 1/2 inch lift shackle from OME so we'll see how that goes. the previous owner of the flippac was also on dakars w/o the AAL and he was not sagging at all so im wondering if he had lift shackles to compensate for it. i would think shackles would help with the stance and easier to install than the AAL like you said, i think its worth a try

Do you have a link to the shackle?

Where do people source their LBJ's from. I just got my trump check and want to buy them.

yeah i believe the -85 part number is for driver and the -15 is for passenger but you may want to double check with someones thread or someone who has done it

I think you're right. I'm hoping to be able to get the parts soon. I just bought a bunch of car detail products so I'm hoping to wash my neighbors cars to make some side $$$ to buy parts.
