I thought about buying the 2020 16" TRD Pro rims here in Canada from the dealer BUT the $330/ wheel and $25/ TRD center cap seemed steep before 15% tax ($1,633 CDN). The US dollar amount is less than $199/ wheel and $15/ center cap but add 30% exchange rate. Also, with shipping on top, plus fees/duty and taxes it makes it stupid expensive, IMO. Instead I ended up buying 17" x 8" with +15 offset 2020 Pro style wheels from a wheelsco in Canada for $199.75 CDN dollars per wheel and includes center cap with TRD logo's plus my 15% tax and free shipping ($918.85). 2 big reasons were price ($714.15 difference) and the 17" C-load tires. With the savings I could buy another wheel and tire for the spare. Besides the Pro Style wheels are wider, 8" vs 7" if you want to use 285 tires's in the future.

This may be a silly question but does anyone have these wheels on stock SR5 tire size, 245s?

I want to upgrade my SR5 with these wheels mostly because they are the lightest OEM I've found but don't want to go up in tire size because I will be towing a travel trailer. Thanks!

Welcome to Tacoma World! Tons of information here you can search, but seeing this is your first post you can find OEM wheel specs and tire calculators etc.

To answer your question regarding 245's the stock Tacoma 16" OEM TRD Pro wheels are 7" wide and 245 mm tires have a recommended rim width of 6.5" up to 8.0". Since your towing, E load tires are best but are heaver. Best to check the specs of the tire you want to use. ex LT245/70R16 BFG KO2 is D load Recommended rim with 6.5" to 7.0" or LT245/75R16 BFG KO2 is E load recommended rim width 6.5" to 8.0"

Great info for him on sizes that fit. I however disagree with needing E load tires to tow. Anything a Tacoma can tow will be fine with P rated tires. There should not be heavy tongue weight so it’s no different then throwing a couple dirt bikes in the bed and driving. I would stick with P rated and suggest air bags for towing to keep the truck level and stable.

Our new member should also know that if a P rated tire (Passenger tire) is put on a light truck the load index is reduced by 10%. We all know that having four people and groceries in the truck exceeds the payload restriction. My vehicle has 990 lbs as the payload limit. He should also know that P rated tires come in SL and XL load ratings. The Tacoma placard states an ISO metric tire size which has a higher load index tire than a P metric tire of same size. I was surprised to find our Tacoma's did not get LT tires from the factory. You would think that a light truck should come with LT (light truck) tires. Falken Wild Peak A/TW3 and Toyo Open Country A/T3 are a good example of P metric, ISO metric and LT metric tires. BFG KO2's are a good example of LT tires for our Tacoma's. I personally went with a 265/70R17 BFG KO2 C load tire after considering Goodyear Duratrac, Falken Wild Peak A/TW3 and Toyo Open Country A/T3. No one said you can't put P metric tires on your truck. I just have them on the very bottom of my list due to price. If E load is off the list because of weight then your choices are limited for 16" tires hence why a most will opt for a 17" wheel which has more tire options. Here are some stock SR/SR5 size tires to compare...

    SL = Standard Load 4 Ply, C = 6 Ply, D = 8 Ply, E = 10 Ply

Goodyear A/T w/Kevlar 245/75R16 SL 2403 LBS (Stock ISO Metric)
    Goodyear A/T w/Kevlar LT245/75R16 E 3042 LBS

    BF Goodrich AT T/A KO2 LT245/75R16 E 3042 LBS

    Goodyear W. Duratrac LT245/75R16 C 2205 LBS
    Goodyear W. Duratrac LT245/75R16 E 3042 LBS

Falken Wild Peak A/TW3 P245/75R16 XL 2469 LBS -10% = 2222 LBS (less than stock Placard)
    Falken Wild Peak A/TW3 LT245/75R16 E 3042 LBS

Toyo Open Country A/T3 P245/70R16 SL 2094 LBS -10% = 1885 LBS (less than stock Placard)
Toyo Open Country A/T3 245/75R16 SL 2403 LBS
    Toyo Open Country A/T3 LT245/75R16 E 3042 LBS

My apologies for getting off topic but the real topic here is Tacoma 2020 TRD Pro Wheels (that only come in 16")

im glad you went off topic lol. I love the pro wheels but am looking for a new tire to throw on them that wont rub or require a cut or lift. Do your K02’s rub?

What size do you intend to run? 265/75r16 isn't even close to rubbing on my truck, on or off road, with the pro wheels (13mm offset) or even with 0 mm offset wheel. I wasn't running KO2s though but figure it'd be the same.

Stock tire size 265/70R16 no issues ever. Larger (+3.4%) 265/75R16 will not hit suspension but will possibly rub on front mud flaps of all models except Pro. Since you have a PRO the front Fox suspension is about an inch higher so you may never rub on the front mud flaps. All the different brands of tires have essentially the same diameter and width for a specific size.

Yes there are a lot of other brands and General does have the Grabber Artic winter tire worth mentioning...

General Grabber Artic 245/75R16 XL 2679 LBS

There are many more E load all-terrain tires in this size and a few are SL.

    Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 245/75R16 SL 2403 LBS
Goodyear Winter Command 245/75R16 SL 2403 LBS
Sumitomo Encounter AT 245/75R16 SL 2403 LBS

SO what's your take on 285's on a 7 inch wheel? Manufacturers recommend 7.5 minimum...I'm thinking it should be fine unless it isn't . Either way there may be legal issues??. There's a decent sale on some 285/75/16 Cooper AT3 XLT north of the border and it's sooo tempting. Picking up a Pro in a week or so...

I would find a suitable wheel for that size tire. Safety first. The 285 tires are all heavy and can be used up to 80 psi. If you do loose a tire I can tell you from experience that the bare rim will take you for a ride in the ditch. Not only may you roll but you may encounter another vehicle, hopefully not head on. When I had a bare rim on pavement at highway speed I could not steer with all my strength away from the side of the road. Once you get into soft soil the rim will dig in and then all goes quiet as you flip through the air...

Sounds like when I rolled a Dodge Aspen!! Quiet.... then all hell breaks loose!!
Guess the other option for a 33ish is a 255/85/16. But probably go 265/75/16. Cheers :)

Hey all, by chance has anyone weighed replica 2020 Tacoma Pro wheels? I’ve read 16” OEM 2020 Pro wheels are 20 lbs, while 17” 4Runner Pro wheels are 25lbs. I’m wanting to run 265/70 or 265/75 C-rated K02’s with the lightest OEM wheel available. Personally I prefer the look of the Tacoma Pro wheel style vs 4Runner Pro wheels. Based off this thread, the 16” Tacoma Pro size will limit my K02 tire availability?
