As much as I’ve dreaded doing this, I’m going to ask anyway. How do I get started with vf tuner? Purchased the tuner software on April 22nd and haven’t received an email or a key or registration info. Not sure if it’s the same process as OVTune flash kit is where you install and then send more info in for a registration key. I was going to download the software from the website but there aren’t any instructions that I’m aware of or I can’t find them. I did read somewhere where the developer said prior to release not to install so I’ve held off but now it appears the software is released.

So, can we start tinkering with VFTuner after we have Reg Key email with download links? I don't want to jump the gun and be trying to use it and it not work because its not ready.

Raise your initial duty ( the 2D by ECT) table as well and please let me know.

These are the same values used in active tests to raise voltage so there should be some increase

This is shaping up great @OVTune - thank you!
My AGM battery is rated 14.40 absorption voltage (2.40 V/cell), 13.50 float voltage (2.25 V/cell). Would anyone have any recommendations what to tweak these settings for? I was reading a little over at batteryuniversity.com and found this:
AGM batteries are sensitive to overcharging. A charge to 2.40V/cell (and higher) is fine; however, the float charge should be reduced to between 2.25 and 2.30V/cell (summer temperatures may require lower voltages). Automotive charging systems for flooded lead acid often have a fixed float voltage setting of 14.40V (2.40V/cell); a direct replacement with a sealed unit could overcharge the battery on a long drive.
In putting those both together it sounds like 14.40 should be my max voltage while 13.50 should be the lowest setting. Does that makes sense or am I getting this wrong?

If you received a vF key and your ECU matches 04B00 through 04B04 you can start now.

I never received anything but a PayPal receipt. Wasn’t sure if there was still delay because I remember reading something about May 1st being released. My ecu is 04b31 if I remember correctly.

Was your purchase for $0, with dongle trade in? If so we have not done all of those.

We also have a few $79 orders we haven't been able to verify because the names / and info does not match anything in our record for previous customers.

So we are still working on it

With 13.3 duty set to 95, 13.6 duty set to 100, and then I set the 120,150,168 ECT temp values to first 90, and then 95. I'm fully warmed up and ECT is higher than those. Same results - no increase in charging voltage - still in the 13.71 to 13.74 area (slight fluctuations)

Mine was the $79. It’s no big deal as even if I had it right now I wouldn’t be doing anything with it until 2.0 final releases to see if it works well for my truck and the wonky throttle is fixed so I can quit spinning tires going into my driveway. If not then I’ll have no other choice but to try to figure out the vf tuner.

    Hmmm

Ok I will dig back into the code.

Really odd because the active test data matches

    I'll figure it out tonight

Hello Mat , I was a $79 order person and have a working Master key . I sent in the system info email on April 28 . I know it has only been a couple of days , but are all the $79 orders you could verify been verified for the VF key ? Also , can I use my credits and unlock my 04B04 ECU now before I get my vf key so I can start learning about VFTune ?

pm me an order number, I cannot figure out anything from that pic.

Purchasing from a phone is no problem but you need a computer to use the software.

    Also, for everyone.

We have 400 + people who ordered this and over 500 messages right now. If we have not got to you yet, we will.
Sending more messages to zendesk will not bump your spot.

if you had a dongle trade you will receive a vF key and registration key once we confirm the dongle on our side.
We have to do this a the slow way because several people sent us dongles with zero way of identifying who it came from.
if you did send with identifying info, thank you. We likely just have not got to you yet

You said you have 500+ messages. Don’t sweat it. I’m in no hurry. It’ll come one day just wanted to make sure I didn’t have to do something like we did for flashkit on pre register. Thanks for responding though.

I am going through them as possible. But I think a lot of people are still really confused.

Your best bet (for everyone) is this:
    1. If you do not have a 16-17 truck with 04B00 to 04B04 ECU ID > no need to rush
    2. If you don't plan on actually trying to use the software to make or edit tunes > you don't even need this
    3. If you send us a request for a vF key, System ID, order update, etc > we HAVE received it, you don't have to send it again.
    4. If you are here for anything related to "tune update" "2.0 tune" "when will 2.0 be available for xxxxx" > you are in the wrong place

Now, out of you guys who are playing with your alternator right now, what ECU ID are you guys and do you have a moment to test a file if I send it to you?

You've got mine - 04B04. I can do some additional testing tomorrow.

Okay. I've found several other alternator controls. Sorry guys but thank you for testing.
The code section from the PID data pulls up only a certain section of a much larger code segment.

Anyways all will be in the software tomorrow with phase modulations for each charge state
