These cover me, and in that order. I did the bed mat first, and eventually the backup camera since that was a bit more labor intensive.

I also eventually added steering wheel controls.

I went with this one: https://tailgatecamera.com/collecti...camera-pre-mounted-in-popnlock-locking-handle

I have an aftermarket head unit, so that's what I needed. I did end up having to repaint the handle after a few years because it turned gray on me...if that happens to anyone else, repaint it with SEM Color Coat, specifically this stuff:

Thanks 4 the reply. I'll check it out. I have the popnlock now and it work great - this would be about $200 with tax but says I'd have to buy a monitor too so I'd have to figure that too. You have a 2007 - I have a 2008 so I guess you needed a monitor. Since you say "was a bit more labor intensive." How bad was it 2 do ? Are U happy ? Thanks.

I did it in conjunction with an aftermarket double DIN head unit, so installing that was really the most labor intensive part. I also took my time to make sure the install was as clean as possible, so I really took my time routing the wires so they were tucked up out of the way and hidden as much as possible. All in all, it probably took me a couple of hours to do the backup camera, but I work very slowly.

Overall, it was very much worth it. There's not a day that goes by that I don't use it either for parking or just making sure my kids and their toys are out of the way when backing into the driveway.

Protecting your kids is much more then whatever it cost. Do you happen to recall how much the monitor was ? Mounts on the dash or rear view mirror ? Thanks.

I used a Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX head unit mounted in the dash. I went with a full aftermarket stereo at the same time, so I was running wires everywhere already.

You certainly don't have to go that route though...just find whatever monitor you are willing to live with, and make sure the camera video output matches the monitor's input. After that, you'll need to tap into the +12V wire that powers the reverse lights - that will power the camera in the back. Whatever monitor you choose might have a trigger wire on it...most cameras will have a trigger wire as well, so you'll connect those two together at the back of the monitor. That's how the monitor knows to start displaying the video feed.
