100K Miles What do I Do?

    I am approaching 100K miles on my truck and I am wondering what all I need to do for mileage at that point? I am just kind of getting a list together. Any suggestions of things?

    100000 miles or 160000 kilometers
    Replace
    Cabin Air Filter / Purifier (S)
    Perform at mileage interval or every 36 months whichever occurs first. Replace cabin air filter, if equipped.
    Coolant (S)
    Initial replacement at 100,000 miles or 120 months, whichever comes first. Replace every 50,000 miles or 60 months thereafter.
    Engine Oil (S)
    Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
    Oil Filter, Engine (S)
    Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
    Inspect
    Disc Brake System (S)
    Inspect pads and discs for excessive wear at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Measure thickness and disc runout every 30,000 miles or 36 months.
    Drum Brake System (S)
    Inspect brake shoes and drums for scoring, burning, fluid leakage, broken parts and excessive wear at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first - if equipped.
    Fluids (S)
    Inspect and adjust all fluid levels. Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
    Interior Moulding / Trim (S)
    Check installation of driver's floor mat. Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
    Wiper Blade (S)
    Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
    Reset
    Oil Change Reminder Lamp (S)
    Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months whichever occurs first. Reset the oil replacement reminder ("MAINT REQD") light after replacing engine oil, if vehicle is equipped with this light.
    Rotate
    Tires
    Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
    (S) = Service Warranty Requirement
    (E) = Emission Warranty Requirement
    (B) = Both Service and Emission Warranty Requirement

    The owner's manual has a maintenance chart up to 125k, I believe

    You should read the owner's manual. It has maintenance intervals in there. Your next major maintenance interval shouldn't be until 120k.

    Inspect ball joints and dust covers
    Inspect engine air filter
    Inspect steering linkage and boots
    Re-torque propeller shaft bolt*
    Tighten nuts and bolts on chassis and body
    Lubricate propeller shaft (4WD and Prerunner with 4 cyl. Eng.)*
    Inspect drive shaft boots (4WD)

    The only thing that I stray from a bit....is I service the transmission.

    Same here about the trans, I do a flush every 60k due to frequent towing.

    I'll cover what's not in the maintenance schedule.
    -Flush PS and brake fluid if it hasn't been done.
    -Drive belt inspection is on the 105K schedule; I replaced mine at 100K; it's cheap insurance, and while you're at it, inspect the idler pulleys.
    -At 100K, along with a coolant flush, I also replaced the thermostat and radiator hoses. Again, cheap insurance.
    -Flush ATF. I follow the maintenance schedule to flush at 60K for severe duty cycle. If it hasn't been done, do it - cheap insurance (use Valvoline MaxLife).

    I think your iridium plugs are due for a change, and it might be a good idea to also replace the PCV valve and serpentine belt. (Keep the old belt as a "emergency replacement.")

    another cheap easy and worthwhile item to check is the vent/valve/breather on the rear differential. Its like a $10 part but if it gets clogged it can cause the gear lube to be blown out the axle seals into the rear brake drums..

    Usually for 100k ill hit the belts, waterpump, thermostate, spark plugs.

    Minor stuff. Brake and ps fluid change out (dot oil likes to retain water which causes bad fluid pressure). coolant will change with waterpump replacement

    It depends on what you've already done. Plugs, and the serpentine belt probably need to be replaced at 100K unless they've already been done. Everything else is as needed. I typically get 60,000 miles out of front brake pads, 120,000 out of the rear, but some people get more, some less. Wouldn't hurt to check.

    I'm at 207,000 miles and other than brake pads, belts, plugs, and oil the only other part replaced is the alternator. I still have the factory hoses, coolant, drums, rotors, and water pump. No need to replace until they go bad.
