Love Kelty products! My favorite tent is by Kelty, followed shortly by my Gazelle tent. However the Kelty tent is a pain to set up and take down, so I put it up when Im staying in a spot for a few day/nights.

This is the setup I'm saving for now. Add it all up & that's the same amount for a small popup for something.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Just a spot off of the 564rd. It was at the end of a short spur (maybe 200' long). It had a nice fire ring that people had built and a few flat spots that would work for ground tents. The Colorado Trail runs through it.

Turkey camp from last week near Ridgway. First time using the SUV tent - I'm stoked with this setup. Sleep in the bed and plenty of storage in the tent. Easy setup and tear down to boot.

Need some advice from you Colorado guys. Looking at heading up to Pagosa springs for a quick dispersed camping trip with the kids.

Thinking of somewhere around forest rd:667 East fork, however I would like to Hit some trails while I’m there. Is Elwood pass not an option with snow and snow runoff? Also looking at devils mtn off of 626. Any advice would be appreciated, we don’t get nearly as much snow here in Santa Fe and so far most of our mtn passes and easily done. Truck is fully built, skids, 35, shock relocate etc.

    Thank you guys so much.

Twin Lakes is one of my favorite areas in CO; it's very accessible due to 24/285 but then gets as remote as you want, as quickly as you want. I haven't been camping just north of Twin Lakes yet (between the Mt. Elbert forebay and Twin Lakes proper), but I see it all the time as I'm snowshoeing around the eastern slope of Elbert. Last season I came upon a carcass that was just decimated by the local wildlife... 5-6 game trails coming in and spreading out in all directions. Massive mountain lion tracks in the fresh powder. It was yet another gorgeous winter day.

Another favorite is Hecla Junction right off 285, just north of Salida. A bit more "campsite-like" and refined, but the proximity to the Arkansas River (i.e. right on it) provides hours of fun, plus a lot of rafting trips take out at that location so there's plenty of action.

I haven't explored that area myself so I don't have any specific road #s but I've heard good things. You can check out the Forest Service website for road #s that have dispersed camping(MVUM) and for checking fire bans(which are currently in affect). I believe west of FoCo would be Canyon Lakes District.

Went to Vallecito Reservoir last week. Water was super high & lots of people. Still was awesome despite the storms.
Going to Chapman campground & fishing the frying pan this weekend. Would like to be able to take the pass between Chapman & Turquoise Reservoir. Also fish some @ Ivanhoe Lake too. Anyone done Hagerman Pass this year?

sadly it’s closed but Turquoise Lake is open - just gotta go around

How's it fish way up there? I have only hit the combat fishing area below Ruedi and some spots on the Roaring Fork.

I love fishing at Chapman Reservoir next to the campground. It’s great if you want to sit back & fish. Lots of lake trout by the little dam concrete wall. Great spot for the kids. I was catching a fish on a little kastmaster every cast. Hoping the pass to Ivanhoe Lake is open & can hit that up too

Just saw the news it’s supposed to snow. Saying up to 15 inches in Montana. Chapman is at 9,000ish so we’ll see.

Ooo gonna creep this thread and add my 2 cents. This was just on the other side of the mountain from Maroon Bells. Stumbled across it after all the actual campgrounds were full last summer and this spot was soo much better. Little bit of 4x4 and 10 dispersed sites on this road. Don't remember what the road is called but I can find it on Google maps if anyone is interested.
