After chatting with Scott at Nitro Gears I think 4.88 will be better because I don’t plan on bigger tires than 33 and I’m not planning on adding too much weight but I’m sure I’ll regret it in the future, as is tradition. One of the bigger things is he said with 5.29 I’d have a max speed of 85, I’m sure tuning it might take that up a bit but he still recommended 4.88.

I have read of guys regretting going 4.88 and not 5.30s, but have never heard of guys regret going with 5.30s instead of 4.88.

Im sure that 4.88s and tune will still be kickass!

totally understand, I’ve just about read through the whole 4.88 thread. They haven’t shipped so I could probably give them a call tomorrow if I changed my mind. That’s really my issue is I’m basically on that line between 4.88 or 5.29. With 285/75, canopy, sliders and possibly a aluminum bumper its asking for 5.29 but idk lol.

I have CQuartz UK 3.0 (2 layers) on my Taco, you'll love it, beads and holds up better than any of my Ceramic Pro trucks did. Formulated for salt and winter too!

    Canada Eh!
Solid! Unfortunately I was only able to get one coat on at the time. Took me over 60 minutes to do the truck, so I needed to wait 24 hours. So I just did a layer of Reload on top and called it quits. Calling for rain tonight anyway.

I just did 2 because I’m OCD, there’s a guy who is doing a 34 coatings panel test on a hood left outside. Think he’s 24 months in now and the CQuartz Uk 3.0 is still holding up, its good stuff. I’m sold on carpro.

I have 285/75R16 Km3s and cant really hear any road noise. My duratracs were way louder. Pretty heavy tire tho so definitely lost some MPGs. Totally worth it tho, gained a ton of SPGs!

i did the same thing. Was going to get a fully loaded OR Cement and change out the wheels and grill with the money I would have saved. But then I found the Pro in AG for $45k. Fully loaded OR with what I wanted was only a few grand less.

As long as you are happy thats all that matters. I definitely drive by cement tacos and love the color, but no regErts. I figure Ill make some bigger mods a year or so from now instead of doing it off the bat if I got the OR.

those tires are awesome! And it looks like you kept the TRD wheels. Did you have to lift the truck to get the tires to fit? Any rubbing? Id like to get some bigger tires but dont want to lift or cut anything off the truck just yet.

Hey guys sorry busy week. The 255 85 16 KM3s are only a little noisy on the road, much less than you would expect for a mud terrain. Slight rub at full lock and flex but barely kisses fender Wells. I believe they will be fine after heating. No lift is necessary. They are significantly heavier and I'm averaging around 16-17 but I also drive in town and have a heavy foot with a manual transmission. I went with discount tire, they bought my old tires for around 300 or so. With that and a military rebate of around 50 dollars I was out the door for 1200 for 5 tires. Hope this helps any other questions just ask.

I had KO2s on several of my prior vehicles. If you go off road on the regular I would suggest the KM3 over the KO2s. The noise difference is negligible. The only complaint I have is there is minor gain in steer float. I'm very happy with the new KM3s and while I'm still seeing what they've got they've eaten everything I've thrown at them. Be prepared to pay a decent price for them though

I feel the same way - got my MT in back November, northeast FL. In fact, to date I’ve only seen one other AG in person, a 4 Runner.

I get stopped every time I go to the gas station or at a store and usually it's people asking me if I had the truck painted. You can't help but smile knowing you have something a little special.

I did lift and it did rub but mostly because I added 1.25" wheel spacers. I kno some guys have said that they can fit 285s and the like without a lift so you can try. Each Tacoma runs a little different. Don't think mine would've liked 285s without a lift all that much....

I think the rule was MT may have some rubbing but AT are typically okay or very minor rubbing. I’m on 285/75 and had to take off my front mud flaps otherwise it’s hard to get it to rub off-road going downhill.
