Thanks, @Tantacookie. Those images give a sense of the overall balance with the long bed. It looks good -- perhaps better than the original short bed! Nice work.

This truck turned out better then I originally had anticipated. The proportions do indeed look proper now. Especially after I look at it day after day. It is indeed the truck Toyota should have produced 20+ years ago. At least in my opinion.

20200502_144308.jpg can I be one of the cool kinds now? It's not done yet, but at least I can see the light.

Welcome to the “stretch a truck”. Lol. It’s gonna look good when you get it all finished up.

So jealous I would love to do this to my dc. I hated the short bed and settled on a bed extender and mostly drive around like that. I need a long bed for surfboards but life forced me into a short bed. This would be a great business to start just saying.

To big of a project right now I'm building an fd rx7 and my truck is way to nice with a new frame to cut it. But you could make bank doing these and selling them the service or buy and flip. I'm also guessing your pretty vested with funds as your able to tackle an extensive project like this.

    Can I join the club?
I recently bought one from my neighbor who built it and am loving it. Has anybody gotten any comments about if it’s custom? Over the few months I have had mine I’ve only had 2 or 3 comments about it. And that’s with it being mismatched.IMG_1717.jpg

only people that know their 1st gen Tacomas recognize it as something special. I’ve had my DCLB FG for 5 years now. The average person doesn’t know or care really..

Tim is an excellent fabricator. I’m pretty sure he made them himself.

    Stuff and junk and things...

I built them but a 2nd Gen DCLB slider may be able to be welded on if you can't make your own sliders.
