Maverick 88 is a good start. I am very happy with mine. Very handy with a 18" barrel.

Got it sighted in yesterday. This Holosun is actually pretty damn nice. Crisp and clear. Easy to zero in. Seems to hold zero well (thought maybe this Sig might be too rough for it). Heading back out today for more!

Just an FYI, the Mav88 is mostly compatible with Mossy 500 parts, barrels and stocks being the two drop in items I can think of off the top of my head. Makes the gun quite the tinkering platform.

Nice. This was my first gun, and I still have it 17 years later. I don't have one on this gun, but I had a 590A1 with a Magpul the stock was fantastic. If you are unhappy with anything about that stock, the Magpul will fix it. Regarding the forend on the Mav, you can't replace it without replacing the action bars-they are pinned together, FYI.

I love a Sig 550. I got to shoot one back to back with an M4, M16, AK47 and FAL, all full auto. The Sig was head and shoulders above the rest. Very easy to control. I would love to have one myself but have heard of issues with the American made 556.

I woke up several times lastnight, one time I had to get a picture of the clock because it reminded me of this thread.

Yeah I watched a bunch of videos on it before buying it. I think the first thing I'll do is the the 500 heat shield for the barrel.

Yeah I did see that replacing the forend wasn't so straight forward. I'll definitely leave it alone while I get acquainted with it but I'll look into it in the future.

    Thanks for the tips guys!
