Luckiamute River to Valsetz and down the South Fk Siletz.

 

Nice. Last time I went out via black rock and that was a bunch of forestry and gates that may or may not have been closed.

 

Saw this owl, too. Couldn't tell if Spotted or Barred. A bear ran down the road in front of me as well, but he was too fast for me.

 

The Valsetz Mainline from Falls City is generally open in the spring(at your own risk), but there are other routes which require the magic key.

Rattlesnakes in Washington are small and shy. I've seen 3, I was looking for them. They didn't rattle and hoped I wouldn't see them.
Someone I used to know picked them up and took them home for pets. He was bitten 3 times and only had to go to the hospital once.
You had a 67% chance of not being hurt much at all. A big dose of venom occurs in about 1/3 of rattlesanke bites I've read.

 

Ah. That’s good to hear and very interesting. Even after knowing this though, I’d rather not even come across one. Lol.
