Are your hands sweaty? I’ve found that if my hands are dirty, or the neck needs a good cleaning, that can cause that. Clean all the body oils off the neck. Or, yeah you could de-gloss the neck

I had just washed my hands cuz they were sweaty. Usually seems to be my issue. I don’t really wanna de gloss it just yet. I’ll keep playing it and maybe it’ll get better over time. Or I’ll get over it and de gloss it lol

I’ve never tried it, but some guys use a green scotch brite pad, or a super fine grade of sandpaper.

It’s not the guitar, it’s you. Keep practicing before you start mutilating your guitar. Only mutilate it during an act of true frantic passion.

As Dalandser said, myself and friends of mine have used 4-0 steel wool to give a satin feel to glossed necks. High gloss necks are absolutely harder to move your hand across in my experience. The nice thing is that if you're worried about devaluing your guitar, the gloss will return as you play it and you can always use a polishing compound to return the gloss if you plan to sell. My friend did that on a PRS SE he ended up selling, you couldn't tell he had ever steel wooled it.

Luckily Gibson had the good sense not to go full gloss on the back of my Explorer neck. She plays pretty fast, if only I could play fast lol.

    Yeah dude wait!

Dont sand the back of your neck yet.
Ultra fine steel wool yeah maybe. Finger ease definately.

Try some auto detailing spray on wax.
Meguiars gold class is my favorite.
Im sure you have some in the garage.
Apply it to the back of the neck and microfiber it

You should be able to feel the difference in slideability.

Whats your go to for acoustic now that its 2020?
    Brand?

    Straight bronze or phosphor?

Ive always liked the earthwoods in 12s.
These strings are like new but its time to get it set up right for me.
