Did you figure out anything specific that was messing you up on reinstalling your cv axle? I plan on doing this soon but also am not one of those guys on youtube that everything seems to go smooth for either.

I figured I should address this issue. First off I would like to say that we are open Monday through Friday and are closed on the weekends. Our office hours are stated in my signature as well as on our website. Though we do work many overtime hours we occasionally deserve some time off to spend with our family. Unfortunately this does mean that something could occur while we are closed and those issues would have to be addressed during normal business hours. This particular "incident" did occur on a Saturday. We received a fairly brash PM from @nwfsr4x4 and did reach back out to him that same day just to see what he was experiencing.

Though we do highly recommend that suspension be installed by a licensed professional who is well versed in aftermarket suspension for Toyota Tacomas a lot of people will attempt to do got at it themselves. There isn't anything wrong in trying however if something doesn't seem right and/or is unfamiliar it can be best to approach the situation with patience and contact the company you have purchased from (during office hours) before going on a forum and potentially causing harm to the companies reputation solely based on inexperience and assumptions.

To clarify the "issue" being posted about on here is very common. A coil can fight more on one side when being compressed which can force the top hat to slant. There is nothing that will keep the top hat level since there is a bushing underneath and one on top allowing it to pivot as needed. Until the assembled unit it is on the truck and bolted up into the shock tower it will not level out. We do cover this on our FAQ page which we do also highly recommend people to review as it covers a lot of important topics:

    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/qa-front-shockcoil-assembly.html

@nwflsr4x4 we would really appreciate it if you were to edit your posts given this is not anything related to the assembly or our company.

Happy Trails TW enjoy what is left of your weekend.

The new ECGS bearing is very tight tolerance and my axle didn’t slide in to get to the splines. There was no sliding at all. I used a tie rod separator/ pickle fork tool to push against the notches on the cv axle to hammer in it. It was the hardest cv axle that I’ve ever done. I’m glad I ordered the seal through ECGS as well. I didn’t plan on replacing the seal, but the circular spring came out with the bearing and I couldn’t put it back in, so I used the new seal. The new ECGS bushing was a bit of a pain to get in and not having a seal there made it easier. The angle is awkward and I used several 1/2 socket extensions with an axle nut and hammer to get it in. The ECGS bushing is longer then the bearing you take out so keep that in mind. I hammered and thought I had it several times before I got it right. It was a long day, with two trips to local stores. I also recommend a 1/2 impact for the 35mm axle nut. I bought the dewalt medium grade 20v cordless impact for $162 at Lowe’s with my military discount. Trust me, you’ll need and use that impact. I have a 3/8 cordless impact that wasn’t cutting it at all. I got it done, but it took me 10 hours for everything. I have herniated disc in my back so a younger back could do it in probably half the time. Front, rear leaf, ECGS.

I don't notice a difference! I asked my wife, who nearly never drives my truck, and she never noticed anything increased roll either. I prefer to slam on the brakes and smack an animal over swerving into a giant Oak tree anyways.

To be fair: I have Toytec 1/2" top spacers in addition to the lift springs and a 1" diff drop, giving me a full 3" of lift. I also have 3" blocks in the rear. New UCA coming soon, for more travel, and it aligned fine. Full droop the UCA is damn near hitting the springs though.

I was thinking about doing the 1/2 on drivers side and 1/4 on passenger for the bro lean. Did you add a 1/4 on the drivers side along with the 1/2?

Nope. I certainly don't notice the lean, other than with a tape measure on flat ground

I just were just changed the springs on the shocks to the top ring on the driver side and the middle ring on the passenger side. The truck is now is now sitting at about 38 ¼” all the way around, it is extremely stable even when going over large bumps or through dips. The truck again rides and handles extremely nice. I do feel the road just a bit more than I used to.I’d recommend that if you know you will soon be adding a front bumper with winch and other armor, then start your Stage 1 lift on the middle ring. That would have saved me the cost, time, and aggravation of having to make the changes.

I initially added my Eibach Pro Stage 1 lift and Icon Progressive AAL with 285/70-17 tires & wheels last year before adding much else. The springs were installed on the bottom ring of the shocks and I did nothing about the Taco Lean. Those changes made my 2019 TRD OR Taco handle like I expected it should have from the factory

Since then: Victory 4x4; Strike Rock Sliders, Blitz Front Winch Bumper, and Roof Rack + Toyota bed mat, Diamondback Tonneau cover, and Smittybilt winch and tent and heaver skid plate installed. The Tacoma’s ride was really changing back to what it was when stock with the front end dipping when breaking and truck floating after speed bumps, and the front left set about ¾” lower than the rest. I'm happy again. Just a lesson learned being passed on.

Eibach Pro Truck Lift HS AAL Camburg UCA’s
    Thank you HeadStrong

Just installed Eibach Pro Truck lift and Camburg UCA’s along with the HeadStrong 3 leaf AAL (overload leaf removed). I ordered the kit pre assembled with new top hats and 1/4” spacer for the driver’s side.

The install went as planned with no surprises and the ride quality has improved greatly. The ride is comfortable, stable, and has the right amount of firmness.

The struts are set on the 2nd notch and I ended up with 2-1/2” lift in the front and 1-5/8” in the rear. I had close to 2” rake before the lift so the truck looks level with slight rake to the front. 285’s are next and going on tomorrow.

Thank you TW for all the input on this laboring decision and huge thanks to Marie at HeadStrong.
