Looks good so far. Why would the cover be temporary?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Make it fold up behind the cab to make a bench seat

Have to make an 8 hour trip and might run into rain with junk in the back, guess I could just use trash bags, but what fun is that. I am going to make a rack in the future, no!, not out of wood :)

I once used a HARBOR FREIGHT bed net and had a coupon for a free tarp as a Temporary water resistant cover on my bed, less than $5 bucks, still have them both stashed

If it was me, I would take it out for a test drive before your trip- really early in the morning on some relatively deserted highway, wind it out and make sure it’s secure. It would be a problem if it got compromised during your trip especially if other vehicles were involved.

    Good luck and nice work.

Wow, that's well built. I was fearing it was going to be some serious cobbled together booshit when I saw lumber was involved, but I was wrong.

I'm practical as well but didn't think it was crazy to spend $170 on a Tyger trifold.

Not much on the 07 yet. 18 is gone, but was a greata truck. TRD Pro grill, Gator FX3, Homelink mirror, Black out badges & exhaust tip, Remote start. Future TRD exhaust, skid plate.
Very nice. Need a pic of it open.

The first 12" along the cab are secured to the Eye bolts in the bed, the back portion is just tied down with line & eye bolts (for now)
