If manuals were available in long beds, there would prob be quite a few more on the streets....Including my truck......

Not sure what you were comparing where the manual is $5k MORE, typically for equally equipped vehicles the manual is $1-2k cheaper.

As for why I own a manual, it's just a personal preference. It's what I learned to drive on, gives you better control in the snow, better mpg (not so much with newer vehicles), simpler maintenance/fluid changes, cheaper to buy....

I did own one automatic, and it was the main thing I hated about an otherwise enjoyable car. From the day I bought it all I could think about was I wish this was a stick. It wasn't a bad auto by any means, it was just fine. IMO all autos are either bad or just fine, and I like more than just fine.

Shit I lost 5 grand, does that include what I saved? I am sure yota screwed me, shit I helped them by buying an overpriced sport as well, maybe I’m up to 10k loss.

I bought the manual transmission, because my last 5 vehicles have been manual transmission and my wife needs to be able show her manly hood by driving a stick.

#1 reason I bought this truck over the competitors was the manual trans option.

Losing 5000? I’m confused, just traded my old manual, got a grand over what I should have for trade, dealer listed it for 3600 over what they gave me and it was gone in 48 hours.

One big difference for me was the PTS. Cant get that in the manuals and I really enjoy not having to fumble with keys. Something you get used to. The other day the wife and I wanted to go for a walk and I needed my keys to lock the house up. Couldn't find them. After a few minutes of looking I realized I had taken my wifes car to get groceries about a week prior, left the keys in the ignition in the garage. That's a semi-long story to say that, you get used to not touching keys, it's nice lol.

But I do sometimes wish I had bought a manual for the " fun" factor. :anonymous:

Definitely hate Toyota didn’t add that for Manuals, my civic had it so I dont know why they didn’t. I understand the clutch start cancel thing but still annoying. Not having to pull your keys out is a huge benefit.

I agree, it should've been included. For PTS you have to apply breaks to start the truck anyway, they could've just moved that switch to the clutch and all would've been fine. Huge miss imo

If they could have just done it for the doors it would have been better and on the newer ones been able to add the feature where you can see if it locked or unlocked from the app.

Top Fuel Drag racers and every single new Ferrari and Lamborghini driver thinks so. The guys who own the Fastest stock car on Earth think so. Guy's with 04 Civics and Fart Can exhaust disagree however. I'm just playing, just got back from a drive in my 350Z which has a 6 speed manual and it took a long time to get the exact version I wanted (Manual Trans, no stability control). To be fair, my 350z gets driven only 2,000 miles a year and is never driven into the city or used for commuting.

I don't think you guys are a minority on this site. I'm just kidding around BTW , I was a Stick Shift guy for 20 years mainly because 4 speed autos and no manual gear selection used to be the norm.

I implied a $5k loss trading in my auto TRD off-road for a manual. That’s where the $5,000 came in, but yes new on the lot paying cash I would have been able to get into a manual for less monies

I still don’t understand how the manual is to blame for a 5k loss.

Fastest stock car, Bugatti Chiron, is actually an automatic. That car would probably need a lot more clutch finesse than people who buy them has :).

I'm kinda surprised they don't. That's exactly what my frontier is. It is surprisingly fun to drive - not as nimble as my taco, but that 4.0l is a lively one.
