In defense of our resident boundary-dweller, the Bday PM @SweetT sent me this morning was, um, err, ..., had both sweet and soft parts... and sent from the heart. He's a well-rounded lunatic.

 

First off; a fish is a fish, nice job.
Secondly; when I fish fast water I try to fish the calmer edges of it...a fish gotta get some rest.
This is an inexpensive suggestion....tie 2- 1/4 oz jigheads on your line roughly 15" apart. Thread on a white 3" curly tail on each jighead.
The superfast water will be too much for this setup but it should work great against the edges of it. This setup will catch smallies, largemouth, stripers, hybrids, whites...basically anything. It's worth a shot.
