I am sure it does, what if you are concerned about long term reliability or how it will run 10 or 15 years down the road though. The Ranger is probably better suited for somebody that leases or buys a new truck every 2 or 3 years.

I did also. It had good power, but i was skeptical about these eco-boost 4 cyl. motors over the long haul and what maintenance required. I've had such good luck with the toyota power plants, thought it would be stupid to change brands.

Reminds me of my buddy returning his 2019 explorer at 40k miles. He had turbo and transmission problems. At 40k miles, two separate major problems is just inexcusable.

I just bought my 2020 Tacoma after looking at everybody’s offerings. I drove a Ranger and a couple of Tacomas one day apart.

I chose the Tacoma because I got a deal on a loaded truck, resale value and reliability. I love my new Taco and definitely feel I made the right choice.

That said, the Ranger is a really cool truck. It drives much smaller than a Tacoma. Has better visibility and feels more nimble. That Turbo 2.3 is awesome. Makes a great sound and is ready to go anywhere in the rev range. There was a point in my dealings where it looked like I could get one for thousands less than a Tacoma and I came close..

    Work in progress...
I drove the new Ranger. It's quicker and has a better on road ride than the Tacoma. It just feels like a car or mini van to me. I wouldn't trade for one.

The extended video points out that smart people drive Toyota's, and dumb rednecks drive Fords....

I don't have a problem with turbos as long as they're designed right. I've just heard far too many bad stories about ford's ecoboost from both consumers and ford techs that I probably wouldn't buy one. Not until the engine has proven itself down the road at least.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
Here’s the thing about turbos and America. We are doing it all fucking wrong. Go to Europe. Look at VW. Turbo 4 banger DIESEL. That’s the way to go. Torque monsters. Mileage that makes even the stinkiest hippie happy. Diesel engines last so much longer than a gasoline engine.
I’m anxiously awaiting the day a Tacoma comes with a Mercedes turbo 4 diesel power plant. It’s a pipe dream, but I would give a testicle to have one.

A Toyota turbo isn't going to be a Ford turbo. They'll do it right.

And GM is cancelling that and the V6 to go with a stupid 4 cylinder turbo...

1 day into ownership, you move pedal 1mm into turbo boost and your EPA stated fuel economy will never be achieved for the life of the vehicle.
