Still not quite done with the plumbing project. I couldn't get the threads on either end of the UV light to stop heavy dripping. It must be the difference between the stainless threads and the copper. I used multiple turns of the pink teflon tape and T to 2 but it kept leaking. Any more torque and I might bust it.

I let it run long enough for my wife to catch up on dishes and for both of us to get a shower. I shut it down and drained it before any damage to the wall from the spray. I looked it up and it's no problem to solder copper to stainless steel so I will clean out the threads and solder it like I did with the brass threaded fittings.

I was just too wiped out to finish it tonight. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at 2am. It will be worth it at the end.

    Morning
My long week ahead of me...

Another tech has put in his notice..

The problem is these techs can do skilled warranty work.
So that just hurts the rest of us for the good jobs that come through.

Grass is not greener on the other side however not having to work late nights or
weekends is sure a big incentive to give it a shot...

    Everyone be safe.

The number of good skilled mechanics and journeymen in all trades has been declining for years. The demand is there, employees have options.

Lucky where I am. CA started very early. 1400 employees, zero positives.
No need to gamble with people's lives. We can get by mostly working from home,
Occasionally going to the office when it can't be fixed remotely.

Next step will be 50/50 home work with staggered schedules. PPE and sanitizer provided.

Too bad cause I'm getting use to my pre-retirement lifestyle. 5 more years until that happens.

They were from my line but have been on line 1 and 3,im on 2.they got pissed by their superv. moving them around and working all over the place with greater exposure to all kinds of people and equipment they dont know who was running . Ive told my supv. at the start of this we will work line 2,thats it.been on my line and machine ever since. we would work on our line only where we know and trust everyone or half your operators will take a leave.me and her have a good relation and she is telling me for my ears only where any new cases are..just found out about one in the electrical shop..getting a little scary..

This is true. However, some just dont WANT to work or learn. I've been doing water quality-swimming pools-water park stuff for 35 yrs. I forget ssometimes people i work with, even the big wheels, dont know shit and it catches me of guard. I'm like WTF? really?

Can't say I blame them, been bounced around like ping pong balls. Just be safe. Local book distribution warehouse we have talked about in the past just put their people on mandatory 7 day weeks. In the past when employees were out sick and ran out of time company dumped them. Not right.
