Question for those who ordered. How long did it take to get a shipping confirmation or tracking number? I ordered mine back on the 13th and haven't seen any communication about it since. I know they're slammed right now so don't want to raise a stink, so was just curious how long to plan on waiting?

For those that have the tailgate lock system installed; im seeking your guidance. I have reached out to @KTJO 4x4 both on here and IG and im not getting any responses. I bought this system almost 2 weeks ago and cannot get this thing to function. So Im hoping one of you can help me.

I have everything wired up as directed. I mean its a pretty simple set up. But for some reason; my system is not working. As in my tailgate is not locking or unlocking whatsoever. Im not sure what it could be except maybe a faulty actuator. However, I wanted to seek advice here first to see if I did somehow mess something up with the connecting wires.

I connected blue with blue and green with green. Plugged into the directed port on passenger side kicker panel (see pic).

What could I possibly be missing? :annoyed:

Did you check the DSIM module? Follow the troubleshooting steps. If it doesn’t light up as it says then it might need to be replaced. I had to get my dads one replaced to work.

i just have the tailgate lock/unlock system. Not the opener. From what I understood the DSIM is for the opener. If its also for the locking system; then I did not even receive that piece.

Ah my dad has the opener system. Maybe the actuator needs replacement. Try testing power directly to the actuator to make sure there’s no issue with the wiring. Then you will know if it needs to be replaced or not.

I really want this, but seems like a challenging install. Anyone else that is not so mechanically inclined able to get this done?

It’s really easy. Had help with installing the tailgate lock system with dad in my truck. It went in fine no issues :)

KTJO and DSIM are very helpful and informative.

The install itself ain’t hard. Don’t follow the directions that come with the kit. Nor the ones on the website. They have not been updated to the new kits easier install. I followed them. Drilled holes in my tailgate. Just to find out it wasn’t needed.
Use the video on this thread. It helps a lot more

We just followed the print outs from the forum and figured out how to do it. We didn’t drill any holes in the tailgate. We fed the wire loom thru the existing hole where you access the spare tire. Not sure if that’s a good thing but it works fine. Hehe...

No that’s the good way. I went with the directions given in the box and about 6 steps in realized they weren’t accurate. Came to here. Found my answers

I may not be smart when it comes to complex installs, but knowing the advice here is good is reassuring. Thanks.

Update on my end. I fixed my issue. Turns out one of the quick connects was not crimped well. Find my wires way too loose. Just swapped my connect out and now works Just fine

Awesome. Glad it’s an easy fix. I forgot she might have intentionally left it loose so you can modify it if you need to... but my memory can elude me lol...

@KTJO 4x4 , @DSIM I have the lock/unlock/opener kit and it works flawlessly and I love it. But I would like to hook up the push button opener but I have a manual transmission. Can anyone tell me how to hook this up since I do not have a Park sensor to tap into or will this feature not work on a MT. Thanks.

Is this over? I’ve tried checking out and applying the code but shows $0.00.
