That dude is pathetic tbh. He just misses the main screen attention. Used to love his videos but he lost it.

Its on my bucket list goals to run the whole thing out and back.
There are plenty of people who’ve done the out and back but people who I know personally have hiked it have acted like its impossible.
I know no one who is an athlete that has done it that can give me a fair assessment of its difficulty.

I’m confident you can do it. There’s some sketchy parts but just slow down you’ll be fine.

Tomorrow is the day it begins. Every workout, every calorie, every macro matters. 6 months to prepare for my best road race yet.

What better meal to start off 6 months of dedication than...

    Neutella french toast for dinner
    445A7C76-4A98-4153-9C53-3D600E3BCE33.jpg

I was really wanting to do my first 8 weeks back with primarily mileage building and 2 cycles of Wendler. But fucking gyms likely won’t open until MAYBE the middle of June. So mo access to barbells between now and then :pout:

Going for a redo of 2020s goals. Road marathon to start off base training for a 50k next May. Probably will take Nov-Dec easy but outside of that will be training for... a year... shit.

My goals are very ambitious but doable. I’m naturally an OK athlete but want to be my best.

Any words of wisdom on how to do that is appreciated.

I would just keep in my planning a serious possibility that gyms will get locked down again in the fall/winter.

    Why a second lock down?

My training program will not allow me to keep up with virtually any lifting. So I don’t need a gym in about 12-13 weeks.

I just hope the race holds.

Not saying it will, but given the unknowns on this, until there is a vaccine, it can very well re-surge when the cold/flu season kicks back up. Personally, I expect the lock downs to come back. But, just my personal opinion. That's worth about twice what you paid for it... ;)

I need the gym now. Unfortunately I’m not gonna get it in time so will just have to deal. Plus less mass = faster even if its not asthetically what I want.

I doubt a second lockdown. What I fear is no races will be held for 2020... BUT I can run a race by myself too. Which is what I would do.

I think it’ll happen, too. I say just keep everything open and say fuck it. We can’t shut the country down every time people get sick.

This is why I don’t think a second shut down will happen. The purpose of shut downs are to prevent catastrophe... well more than one is going to cause catastrophe not avoid it lol

If any of you know how viruses work, there will most likely be another shelter in place for a bit. The shelter in place is to keep hospitals from becoming overloaded since this virus requires a high amount of resources for severe cases

Yes but the assumption of a second shelter in place is making a few assumptions about this virus we don’t actually have current knowledge of. But its assuming
    1) Most people in the population have not gotten it
    2) The virus morphs very quickly.
    3) There is little to know natural immunity that occurs post original infection.

Those are some ballsy assumptions. Now they could totally be true, but they are worst case scenarios that currently have not happened with previous viruses in this family.

In a lot of states that have been hit hard by this... their medical systems have been overwhelmed as much as they are going to be. Sheltering more past the surge is no longer beneficial to protecting medical resources. So there is no point. States that have not faced the surge need to be scared.

We just have to find out if we truly have hit the peak or not.

I’m very interested to find out how states like GA do. They are saying fuck it to the restrictions and want to go for herd immunity. This will be valuable information.

Very curious how it all turns out and what we learn moving forward.
