Thanks for the info. Yes the upper fasteners were secure but I don’t think the “bits of plastic” that are on the bottom are secure in the holes. I can almost lift the grill up even when it’s bolted down on the top. I’ll check this am and report back. Thank you for the help.

You can pull the bottom tabs off faux grille and just zip tie them. Makes the grille sit lower. A little sanding is required though where the arrow is pointed. It was the cause of why it wasn’t sitting all the way down...well for mine anyway. EB5615C9-A2B9-48F7-9335-882B9363E173.jpg

Thanks to everyone for the tips.

I cut the tabs and zipped tie (irepLONGBEACH) worked great. Also I flipped the bracket which also lowered it as well. Replaced the pop clips in the corner with screws as well. Grill is solid and not going anywhere. The fit looks much better. Yes I thought I’d prove you all wrong and use the included gasket. Ha yeah that did not work. Ordering the tailgate seal after lunch. Would like to paint but think I’ll just keep as is for now. Neighbors really impressed how good it updated a 10yr old truck

My gasket finally came in so I put it on and installed the new grille. I took out the lower pieces that hold the stock grille on. It fits pretty securely. I will probably make some adjustments and change the upper pop clips with nuts and bolts. Otherwise, not bad for just slapping it on. Now to wire the LED's...

Was this professionally done? Meaning the painting or color matching of the grille

Yeah...I just paid a shop $100 to have them paint it. It's darker (obviously) since the paint is new, but with most lighting, you can't tell. I had the truck’s paint corrected once I bought it, but it's not perfect. If you look at the last pic, you can see a little bit of orange peel...but for a 10 year-old truck, it doesn't bother me too much at all.

I actually got a switch from CH4X4 and wired it up like the LED lights on my 4Runner. I joined the illumination wire and the switchable power together and connected that to the add-a-fuse (which I plugged into the wiper location on the fuse box in the cab), the constant power to the power wire for the LED's, and black to ground. The lower indicator light on the switch is always on, but that doesn't bother me too much. When I turn the switch on, both light up. Now I have the LED's on whenever I want and can turn them off also.

Are the letters secured by screws or tape? I ordered one from eBay but the letters shipped separate, got the grille before the letters

Cool thanks, did your letters ship separate? I got my grille over a week ago and I'm still waiting on the letters. Tracking says they've been in Chino since the 23rd.

I'm thinking about ordering another one to see if it comes with the letters and returning the one I have now.

Screws for mine as well. That's so strange that yours shipped separately...

Went ahead and ordered one, a little more $$ than the one from eBay, but at least I have peace of mind knowing it'll come with the letters. Should be here Tuesday.

    Thanks!

Yeah it was a little more expensive than the eBay ones, but the eBay sellers (and most Amazon ones) wouldn't ship to Hawaii (everyone thinks we're international). They're all the same

FA3C35ED-648B-4041-87AF-2B6F97F63CB6.jpg I just re did my front end. Gave her a much needed facelift. But, I’m having trouble attaching the weather stripping to the grille. Thought I had it and it fell off. Any ideas? Doesn’t clip or have room for clips.

Just buy the wx stripping everyone else has talked about in this thread. I just got mine and it’s night and day difference. Also had to trim off some notches on mine to fit but it’s much better.
