I love my Blackstar! They make outstanding amps. This is the quietest running amp I’ve ever heard.

If you weren’t aware, Blackstar was formed by a small group of ex- Marshall employees.

I had a black star HT 50 briefly. For gain tones I loved it and would have kept it if it had enough clean headroom.

So here’s where I’m at with the 65. Busted neck screws that were apparently fused into the neck during the creation of the universe. I don’t know what type of person glues in neck screws... seriously who does this?

Heat the screws with a soldering iron and see if it softens the glue - you could *tack* weld a nut on the end if you cover the neck with a fiberglass blanket over the neck too.

Lookin good man youve been hammering it!

Have you tried the spray on detailing wax on the back of the neck yet?
I only keep asking because I had an old westone that was fully painted red and omg that thing was stupid sticky!
It was the only thing that helped.

I have not yet. Played for about an hour yesterday and was mostly good. Hands were a bit less sweaty. I might give it a try later this afternoon though, I'll let ya know if I do

If you want to speed up the process, go stream fishing, get some small rainbows and then a couple of nice brookies as a warmup...

Then catch a nice brown, let him pop off the hook and flop back towards the water,,,,
And grab him up thru the gills in the heat of the moment, forgetting about the gnarly teeth they have while he thrashes around trying to regain his freedom while you get the stringer lol

    That fish was sooo metal!
    Screenshot_20200504-095556_Gallery.jpg

And if youre going to break fingers, try not to do it on your fretting hand haha
Like my natural relaxed hand position?
Helps with the spread, not so much with the dexterity/speed.

    I mentioned "finger ease".
I also use this. Body, back of neck and fretboard.
Between the 2 of them, you're covered.

I’ll see if I can find a bottle. The finger ease stuff is on the way already.

I tried the soldering. Didn’t cut it, so I used a torch. Fire solves all problems, no fiberglass blanket needed.

So the glue loosened up and the screws are out?
