Tire size vs mpg

Just wondering if 265/75/R16 will change the miles reading on my odometer significantly to where it is showing im getting less miles than i actually getting?

I'd say it would be ~3.9% off

 

since the tire is bigger than stock, it will take longer to get a full rotation of that tire than stock. so basically, your odometer will show less miles than it actually has on it over time. but that size is not significantly larger than stock, so it's not a big deal.

 

actually it's the difference in the bottom right corner of that chart. 3.7%, revolutions per mile. so he will get 3.7% revolutions per mile less than he used to.

so if you went 100 miles, your odometer would show 96.3 miles

 

^your right, his OD would be 3.7% under recording the miles, or traveling 3.9% farther than what he is recording, tomato tomato

thanks guys, my OD shows me 260 miles when the light comes on (15 gals used) im really at 269.62 miles.

In reality, when calculating your mpg, just assume its 4% bigger, it will be close enough IMO.
