How long did it take them to fix it once they got there? That's a pretty long time for something that looked routine in that picture. Must have been a lot of stuff down elsewhere. :notsure:

Hahaha. Y'all seemed to be on the tail end of the event in Tennessee.

I worked for Tyson at that time, I shipped their chicken fingers and nuggets all over the world. They set up give away points all over and I had to get fully cooked and ready to eat food to all the locations until no one came to get it any more. They set up grills and brought people in to cook 3 meals a day for everyone for about a month and I shoveled ice in the parking lot when I got caught up.

    timeline..

tree went down about 530pm Sunday. Cops showed up to block the road about 7pm.

Monday morning 4am Huntsville Utilities shows up for the first time to put the new pole in beside the broken one, finished up about 430-445AM with that.

Fast forward to about 830-9am and the second crew for HSV Utilities shows up to start taking stuff off the old pole and putting it on the new one, and fixing what they could on the lines to our houses. That wrapped up around 12:30pm.

Then Google was out there fixing their fiber at about 2pm and finished up around 3pm.

They said there were a ton of isolated incidents like ours where a single tree would take out a pole or more and they just had to disperse their crews all across Madison County to take care of similar situations.

    Here’s a couple more pics I took

My neighbors house that had it all ripped off the side. Utilities wouldn’t fix this either because it’s now an insurance issue...

That tree was about 3feet across at this portion so it was a big’n.

Oh man, best part, I didn't know if I told you guys or not...talked to a lot of people over the last day and a half lol.

So when the tree fell at 530pm Saturday I went out front to assess the damage and had Amy call the police/utilities since there were live wires across the road. I had on a safety orange shirt and stood out by the road to try and stop people from running through the lines. Well at one point I walked over to my neighbors that had it ripped off the side of her house to tell her to turn her main breaker off, and I'll be damned if not the instant I got away from the road 3 motorcycles came blasting down the road (about 40mph if I had to guess)...

the first one is just absolutely blind and clueless and takes LUCKILY a cable line to the chest, it snaps, and he takes about 20 feet of the line with him. 2nd guy slowed enough to duck under the other line, and the 3rd guy stopped completely and went around. 1st guy made it about 3 houses down before he even freaking realized it and he just grabbed the cable and tossed it off the side of the road and off they all went! son of a gun was lucky it wasn't the damn power line!

Cleo is on her way to the vet to get spayed this morning. Poor pup, she knows something is going on when she has to get in the crate in the back of the vehicle!
