Love the pic, not sure about that username :anonymous:

Jesus, all this talk about Bobsled. Find your speed, pop the lip, land. Stop looking at the gap or the cars! Freakin me out man... That tall ladder drop at the end though, that one is a bit of a bruiser. Finally hit it the last two times, but damn, that’s a bit of a rough landing.
Here’s the full Sled (not me). Good times.

I was at my home trails. Not in my backyard, just the local trails I dug. Main line was 12 jumps.

The ditch was like 2 inches deep early last week or so from some video I saw. Has it really trenched out since then?

Recovered to about 90%, so not bad. I'll definitely need actual knee surgery at some point, though -- just trying to put that off for as long as possible.

All said and done, not as bad as it could have been I guess. I still ride... a lot. I just don't launch off everything in the world at stupid speeds anymore. Pure psychological change, though, not a limit of the leg itself.

Utah is freakin amazing, but the Seattle kid in me always loves the PNW.

Except in late Feb when it rains nonstop, and is dark and grey as ever.

It's more or less the same. I rode it on Sunday and after the rains it just got a little more rutted. It's starting to border the "fun/no-fun" line IMO.

I'm thinking of a WOW lap this weekend if you wanna come. Haven't worked out the shuttle part of the details yet, but I'm sure we could figure it out.

You have a yeti, yeah? And have ridden/owned other FS bikes?

How do you feel about Yeti's rear suspension with that dual stanchion thing above the bottom bracket. I'm sure there's a name for it but I'm very unfamiliar with Yetis.

Switch Infinity. I like it, little extra maintenance but I think the benefits are worth it. Climbs better than any other on the market (in my opinion) and the way it lets the rear triangle move around, it really handles square edge hits at high speed well. But it's hard to buy a bad bike in the high end market these days, they are all so good.

Extra maintenance in what way? Shock servicing, cleaning? Does the rear shock function as any other in terms of adjustments?

Just needs to be greased every 40 hours. Yes, rear shock is set up the same, nothing proprietary with the shock like Specialized used to (maybe still does) have on their bikes.

    Just to be contradictory! :duel:

I know a lot of people love the Yetis, but it's so hard to tell what climbs better. Two of my buddies ride the SB5.5 and they've both swung a leg over my Rallon. They both thought the Rallon climbed better and had less bob and I actually preferred their SB5.5s. I guess, point is, I think your last sentence is spot on.

Also, for those that like the idea of the switch infinity system without the extra stanchion maintenance, the guy that designed it for Yeti went to Alchemy bikes and designed a "simpler" version. I've ridden the Arktos 29, almost bought it, and it rides just like the Yetis. https://alchemybicycles.com/why/sine-suspension/

The climbing efficiency is what everyone always talks about but I really feel like the way it descends is a bigger advantage. But maybe it's because I don't care how fast I climb, just want to Ricky Bobby my way down hill!

@MattJakobs at the end of the day, it was a coin toss between the SB130 and a Smuggler. I think I would be just as happy on the Tranny. It's the bike not the rider.
