I have added 72 square feet of Noico sound deadening on the inside of my truck. I would like to add sound deadening to the hood. I dont want to trap heat in the engine bay though. Has anyone added sound deadening to the hood? I wish that I could find an aftermarket manufacturer that made something I could use plastic rivets to fasten to the underside of the hood. I'd even pay the money for OEM if Toyota made it. Something like this? If nobody has any ideas I'll just more Noico, but I'd rather have something else because I think the Noico will hold in heat.

Don’t think putting it on the underside of the hood would make a difference in cab, I would think most of the engine noise you hear is coming through the firewall imo.

In the hot rod industry it's done all of the time. There are specific sound deadening materials made for that application. Most of them look like silver, almost like tin foil, when it's done. It helps reduce noise a lot inside the vehicle especially when the hood is long and/or mostly flat.

Look for hood insulator on Amazon- there are lots of them with adhesive backing. You can buy aftermarket trim clips and push them through the mat if you want, but I’ve had one under my hood for a few months and think the adhesive will hold up.

As far as I can tell, made no real difference in sound in the cab. Truck sounds quieter from the outside, but that wasn’t really the goal...

This^^. I've put some extra mlv under the hood. Accomplished nothing. It was just extra that I had to put somewhere other than the garbage can. Do the firewall if you're really trying to quiet it down. But I'm not sure it's worth your time.

I didn't do the headliner. I did the rear cab, all 4 doors, and most of the floor. It was a total of 72 square feet. Im not sure how many square feet on each panel though.
