...^^^... Cool pic ... that pic (background) reminds me of that floating Esso gas station in downtown Vancouver around circa 1980 ...

I wonder ... is it still there ?

My big concern is the noise exposure to her. I wear an ANC Bose and still losing my hearing!

Other than that. Started slow with her in in a pen in the back and worked up. She’s pretty happy when we are done though and anxious to get out :) ! ( my flying perhaps? ) But a great copilot. Doesn’t talk, doesn’t push buttons, and doesn’t want to fly!!

I fly with dogs all the time. 90% of them lay down and go to sleep. If your dog is going to be flying often, I’d invest in those doggy ear muffs to protect their hearing. I hear that they’ll shake them off their head until they learn to realize what the muffs do, then they’ll leave them on.

B-52. All day, every day. The things that airframe has done (and can still do) are impressive and frightening.

Good point! I remember as a kid in Spokane, where I am back to now, we would see 5 or 6 B-52's fly over every day. Way cool. And VERY intimidating if they are coming after you. My dad was in the 92nd Bomb Wing way back when prior to me. So have some connection to them.

I hired Vietnamese landscapers in the past, one of them told me it was really scary when the B52s came over. They did excellent work for a good price.

In Desert Storm, the B-52 was used as a psychological operations weapon.

F-4G Wild Weasels, when they weren't blowing the shit out of SAM radars, had the fun mission of dropping leaflets. At the start of ground operations against the Republican Guard, the weasels dropped leaflets that basically said "the B-52s are coming - this time, from this direction; make your peace with Allah."

So...the Iraqi forces arrayed every anti-aircraft platform they had and aimed it between 20,000 and 40,000 feet.

Day one of ground ops: B-52Gs out of Barksdale AFB take off, fly around the fucking world, and join the air wall. In front are EF-111 "sparc varcs" jamming the ever-loving shit out of everything. Right behind them are the weasels, blowing the shit out of every SAM radar they can find. Up above, F-15s are flying a counter air patrol; killing any MiGs that are foolish enough to show up.

Then came the BUFFS...at 1000 feet...dropping 500 pound gravity bombs...with screamer whistles. All the Iraqis had that worked were manually sighted quad-barrel machine guns...and the A-10s made quick work of them.

Per Stormin' Norman, the BUFFs were to bomb the Iraqi forces to about 50% strength and then break off the attack. Then they flew all the way back to Barksdale.

Two days later...the weasels dropped new leaflets.

By the time the BUFFs showed up for round two, all they found were unmanned tanks (many still running) and the Iraqi Army surrendering by the thousands. When the US Army rolled up, they couldn't process the POWs fast enough.

So, what have we learned here? BUFF > Allah

Can't wait to see the 748i as AF1, but I hope they don't mess with the livery and keep it as it is.
