Just looked. The effective STA is 80*

That'd be a tad upright for me, but who knows, maybe it works for that bike.

Jesus that's steep. Looks hella goofy too. I guess someone needs to find the upper limit of the steep STA trend (which I like overall).

For Utah, it seems 76-77* is just right. Any steeper and its hard to hop the nose over ledges and stuff while seated. Any slacker, and you start to notice the climbs more.

My Bronson is 73*, and you feel every little climb.

Hell I may have to. My two top trail bike frame choices are unavailable locally with extended back order projections. I’m not a huge fan of buying a frame online, but that may be my only option if I want something before September.

Spot on! The Rallon is 76 in the low setting (which is the higher setting o_O), and it climbs great on most trails around here. I've left it in the lower setting after a downhill day at Deer Valley and it's a bit too wheelie happy.

Also, I hate this stupid naming convention of low and lower. It doesn't make your bike cooler! Just name the geo settings logically.

Hope you get it built up well before then, once things open back up, I'll be planning another Tacoma World Ride N' Camp like we did last year, hopefully before it gets too hot.

I’ll have something for sure by then. I’ve gone so far down the rabbit hole on parts for this build already I’d hate to just settle on the frame choice.

That being said, if I can’t source one of my 2, there are a couple other choices that I know will still be killer bikes for my needs.

The new Kona HEI HEI can fit TWO bottles inside the frame haha. Not that that is driving my interest in it but it’s a nice to have

edit: 125 seems LOW not lol. Lol.

Um...yeah. I bought my Bronson in spring of 2017, haven't touched the internals since. Some of the bearings, etc could use some love, but haven't had a single issue with the squishy stuff.

I wouldn't buy one. Heard their CS, order times, and warranty are horrendous. Basically about to fold. Had a local guy break his early production frame and is 13 months in to a warranty claim with no resolution and barely any contact.

Cool. Good to know. I just bought a 5010 and I want to make sure I’m not neglecting it.

I'd def pay more attention to the headset, etc because of the dirt that can get in. But the squishy bits are probably fine as long as you aren't thrashing a bike park and taking huge hits on the regular.

What's the word on Magura brakes? A few local guys seem to like them, but looking for a more diverse sample size. Specifically the MT7s.

I took a mild fire road ride with the kids during our lunch break. Good times. Then back to the books.

I wonder if more kids will learn to ride and enjoy bikes this generation due to the focused time spent at home during the pandemic.
