She didn’t even apologize or ask if everyone in the truck was okay. More concerned with her Japanese food getting cold on the front seat!

not the guy you replied to, but I ordered the same thing. The 2 cables are different in the way the micro usb is. I have a garmin mini, one cable plugs into it and goes up, the other would plug in and go down. it would work sure, but may not look the cleanest.

My dongle came in today. I'll have it installed by this weekend and up on my channel. Here are a couple of pics.

Installed mine this weekend with the simpleusb adapter and an Aukey dro2 attached to the windshield behind my mirror. Didn't really like attaching it to the glass with 3m but it's a much cleaner and simpler setup than some kind of mount on the mirror arm. Used a 3 inch usb cable and tucked everything up tight. If the camera didn't play a little tune every time it powers on you wouldn't even know it was there. I tried one of those APEMAN mini cams as well but I wasn't too thrilled with the picture clarity.

The Aukey might with an external battery pack as it seems to only work when it's getting power. The Apeman one had an internal battery with a motion detector that would record if it sensed a collision.

My dash cam has forward and rear cameras integrated into it. This is an older images with a longer USB cable I've since upgraded to a shorter one. The sun really eats up cameras where I live so I don't leave the camera up when I am at work all day. I haven't had any issues with the adapter overheating as of yet. With the shorter cable I did tuck the cable and adapter up out of the sun.

This looks awesome, I'm in the market for a dash cam, any recommendations to use with this adapter? Also, does this adapter let the cams turn on and off with the power of the truck?

Yes, it turns on and off with power of the truck (or accessory power). I went with the Garmin Mini because it can easily be hidden and it's simplicity. So far so good.

I installed a Roav dashcam off Amazon last weekend with the mirror adapter and it was the easiest mod ever! Thanks for this OP!

For those with suction cups dash cams, any issues with it staying on? Mine keeps falling off especially in the heat. I’ve tried double sided tape to hold it up. But it only stays up so long. any suggestions or recommendations? Thx

    Yeah.
So, theoretically I could just use this to power my GoPro, right?
